Yamaha Nytro sled
Yamaha Nytro sled
Has anyone ridden a Yamaha Nytro? If so what are your impressions of it? Thanks I am looking at buying one. Polaris lineup isnt any better this year so I am gonna try something different

I test rode one last year, it was a nice sled, nice and comfortable with good power. My only problem with yamaha is i do not like the 4 strokes. The added weight of the motor is to me not very desireable. Takes more effort to ride them through the corners. They do go like a raped ape on the lake though. Two of my buddies ride Yam and i think they are going to go with Arctic Cat this year. They do not like the 4 strokes either. I will stick with my Skidoo 800 H.O. renegade

Rode a Nytro last year. Nice riding sled and didn't feel too heavy although I didn't get it stuck!
Power wise, if you're coming off of anything bigger than a stock 700 (F7's excluded 'cause they rip!) it'll feel slow off the line.
The RX-1's, old ones, not the new FI 150hp Apex models, are considerably quicker, although in stock form still no match for a 800cc + 2 stroke.
I raced a guy w/ an 04 RX-1 Mtn, think he was stock, although it had a loud exhaust. I have a RMK 800 nothing special 'cept SLP twins, reeds, and a good clutch setup. Both sleds 151's and I took him by several lengths, up to about 80 mph and we had to shut down.
The Yammis are very reliable and unbeatable if turboed.
