how much ya wanna bet that if you have either an xm or sirius reciever, you'll have to buy another one to receive the new signal when they merge. just another way to get money. and i just got a new xm reciever for xmas worth almost $200

Well, I hope that the merger is anti-trusted. I don't think it will be, as both companies are going to say that they're in the same market as MP3 players and old fashioned radio, and as a relatively new technology the courts are probably going to agree with them.
At it least it solves the issues of dead spots with either service...

I dont think you will have to buy another receiver to get both programs. All they have to do is reprogram the towers. Kinda like Sprint/Nextel. I dont see the prices going up too much anyways. You have to think, this radio service is only a luxury, they know this. Most people will discontinue service before payin a huge monthly subscription fee.
