Be nice or I wont offer my assistance.

A very close personal friend of mine is a forensic scientist for the OSHP. I will be happy to ask any questions for you. Also, there are several LEO's on DTR that may be willing to help.

Again, only if you nice

This is the main one

I was wondering if it were possible to identify the characteristics, forensically, between two types of burnt gun powder. Like could you match residue from a victim, to a shooters hand, with a chemical signature. Or would all gun powders have the same chemical signature?
Not just the residue in general, but is there an identifiable and specific signature for different powders?

Thanks,

When i need information for a book, i go straight to the horse's mouth. I've talked to attorney's, doctor's, policemen and so on and i've never found any of them that would not take the time to answer my questions.

I'm with ya, I just live in the middle of nowhere. Not many resources here for major crimes. Good to live here in that sense. I did try to call a few but met with a bit of resistance. So far the guys here have really helped out.

Gotta love DTR!!!

Just teasing....don't anyone start yelling at me!!!!!

Good luck with your book. Hope you find the answers you need.
