WOW 20 Years!!!

Has it been 20 years since we first kicked in Sadams Door?? Seems like yesterday.

Desert Storm 20th Anniversary of the cease fire. To Bad the Politicians did not let us finish what we started how many young Americans might still be with us... May the Rest in Peace. All Gave Some... Some gave All Thanks Vets.

Doesn't seem possible does it?

I too think about the lives that could have been saved had we taken care of business the first time around. I also wonder though how far Iran and the rest of the loonies would have progressed without Sadam though. Either way I guess it all happened the way it did for a reason.

Thanks for all you men and women do and have done.

This is funny... strange, not ha-ha...

My wife reminded me we met 20years ago today....

I had just flown back from Al's Garage (the common name for Al Karge (sp?) in Saudi) got into town and stopped at the bar by my house... I was still in uniform and could not buy a drink.

I didn't realize it was today.

Dang I'm getting old. I was recalled for that one but luckily I got to stay stateside in a support role. Things sure would be different if we could have stuck a scud up his butt!

OOhhh... don't say that!

I was in Riyadh when the scud just missed us... and in Iraqi Freedom I was in Kuwait City for the Air Bridge when we got the scud alarm and watched a patriot shoot it down... That stuff doesn't give the warm and fuzzies when both times we were worried about NBC attacks.

Nope, my armored calv unit got activated with me having 8 months to go but we never went. They took a comms unit instead. I was relieved at the time but looking back I wished I could have gone the extra mile for my country. Never saw any combat at all. Mostly just the inside of a motor pool.

BLACK LIONS!

C-co 4/70 Armor FIST, 1st AD

This is the day we siezed the T-72 that sits in the 1st Armor Division Museum

Wish I still had the picture of my team sitting on top of our track with cigars and near-beer.... now I feel old.

Hey who remembers when the Saudis wouldn't let us off load the O'Douls because it has trace amounts of alcohol??

Or when in the main Army camp in Riyadh, with Saddams forces massing at the border and theatening to come down, no one, not even the MP's or guards on duty were allowed to have live ammo on them cause a couple of clowns had discharges in the "discharge barrel" and one of the bullets went through the side of the barrel and struck a GI in the leg?

Yeah, good times!!

One of the things I always liked about being a flying crew chief on c-141's is we were always going somewhere.
