Would you Bet on this D--Maxx

I was wondering if anyone would want to bet on the longevity of the D--Maxx that pulled up along side of me at a stoplight in Beautiful Hangtown today.

This Yeahoo pulls up in an extended cab 2500 HD 2003 model. he is towin an Alpha Gold 5er about 34-35 ft. The tail bumper of the Chebbie is dragin, looked at least 2-3 inches lower than the front bumper.

Well the light turns green anthe Yeahoo behind the wheel shoves his right foot down on the go pedal. It looked like that Chebbie with the D--Maxx was preparin to become airborne like an F-16 or something. The nose end raises up about 3 inches as the Alpha slowly starts to roll. Then as this slinky contraption picks up speed the Chebby settles back down into its original taildraggin stands as they roll merrily along.

When he gets where he's going he'll probably be trying to figure out why his truck is 6 inches longer than when he started.

Saw a 03 GMC 2500 with a D-Max pulling a large Dozer the other day. Had the same tail dragging position. He pulled away from the stop light much quicker than I thought he would though. May not last very long but was impressive in a scarry don't want to get infront of him and stop kinda way. ;D

Mom and dad just bought an 04 Dmax/Allison. Said the HO/Auto Cummins didn't have the kick in the butt the Dmax did. Oh well.

Somebody needed to give that "Yeahoo" more than a "kick in the butt" the way it was sagging. Wonder what his tongue weight was?

He had come over Echo Summit, ele. 7200' from S. Lake Tahoe.

The D/A is a little faster outa the hole, but they will want to shoot themselves when it starts huntin for gears at every hill they come to. :'(

Re:Would you Bet on this D--Maxx

I saw some guy in a Ford F150 the other day pulling a trailer - maybe 14 - 15 footer - on a hitch. He was so low to the ground, I was waiting for sparks when he took off. He took off SLOOOOOOOOW too.

Off the topic, I saw a brand new F150 yesterday too - it didn't look bad (not Chevy bad anyway), but they stole liberally from their own Superdoody trucks style IMHO. Nowhere near as nice-looking as the Dodge though.

Why hook anything to your bumper if its large anyway? Use a gooseneck. I haul an 850 Case dozer with my 99 dodge all the time. No problems and 85,000 miles. You have to know how to drive them though. You cant expect to floor it at every light. That will deffinitly lead to trouble.
