Work for DCX and drive a Ford or GM? Park it further out buddy

This is funny, here is part of the article:

Auto Plant Forces Workers Who Own Fords, GMs To Walk
Non-Chrysler Vehicles Will Be Towed
KOKOMO, Ind. -- Workers at DaimlerChrysler's Indiana Transmission Plants I and II better allow more time for parking if they drive Fords or General Motors vehicles. A new policy that took effect Monday designates about 80 percent of employee parking spaces at the plants for Chrysler vehicles only. It forces workers to park much farther away if they drive a car or truck made by a competing manufacturer.
Here is the whole article Click here

I worked for Ford Motor at the Lorain plant and never heard any complaints about my Dodge and Chevy products but don't come in the lot with a jap car our truck and not exspect someone to give you a hard time. I allways figured I earned my money and could spend it any way I wanted. Even the jap car people recieved less of a problem when Ford got in bed with Nisson to make mini vans at the Avon plant .

They have experience at towing out of that lot. I helped on a plantwide meeting there a while back and watched them tow a large ammount of cars out of a roped off area where the tent was to be. Imagine the look on faces at shift change......

yep, i worked for a Coca Cola distributing center and if you were caught with Pepsi (this was stated in the employee handbook)...Good Bye!

as a matter of fact it was also the Coors distribution center, but if you came to work drinking you would be fired for the sake of drinking, whether that be a Bud or MGD or whatever.

There are two sides to it.
Are they going to refuse entry if the clothes you are wearing are not made in the US of A ?

I do support the idea. Buy our products and we can treat you better.
They should bring it to a vote. I bet the majority will support it.

Maybe they are conditioning the Chevy and Ford owners for the walking they will do .!!!

I think the idea was with good intentions, but poorly thought out!

I'm the President of a local in the Canadian Auto Workers. Whenever I go to a council meeting at our training facility in Port Elgin, Ont. there's always a lot of talk (not usually too nice) about the Toyota's, etc parked there.

At the last meeting, someone got up to the Mic. to bring this up - and it was then later pointed out that the PARTICULAR 'foreign' vehicle he was talking about was made in Canada, there was a CAW organizing drive ongoing at that plant, and that most of their parts came from CAW organized parts suppliers...

It gets harder to tell just WHAT is foriegn these days - My Dodge Ram was made in Mexico! I wasn't too happy about that - but WHAT was the other choice? I actually was going to buy a Ford (I'm sorry!) because they were being made at the Oakville, Ontario truck plant - But then Ford announced they were closing that plant so I said screw that, I'll get what I really want!
