Wiring wig wag
Wiring wig wag
Im a vol fireman here where I live. I'm trying to wire up my wig wag ( makes headlights alternate flashing ). I can't remember witch wire to hook to! All 3 wires have power when off. I need the high beam headlight wire. HELP!! Has anyone done this lately? Thanks
Any idea on the high beam wire? It needs to be on high beam so you can see @ night. When running it on other truck, I turned on parking lights and wig wag and could see fine even @ high speed. Thanks.
I found that doing wig wags on a set of driving or fog lights works better...
Here's a video of mine in my old truck.. The camera didn't catch all the strobe flashes, but ya get the point...

If ya do do 'em up to the headlights, as was said, make sure your flasher supports ground switching. My Whelen flasher does...

I suggest just getting strobes... it is easier to drill headlights than mess with the computerized wireing! Anything goes wrong, dc will blame you even if it had nothing to do with your wiring.

p. s. they work very well on these headlights

Here in NY I believe its illegal to put on a personal vehicle but very cool. Wish I could help
BTW, nice setup Eskimo. A lot of people neglect to let people behind you know ur stopped when your on scene. I've seen too many people rear end others because they were stopped at an accident and were hard to see. As soon as your on scene ur rear lights are just as important IMHO. Wish I could afford a setup like that! I too am a big fan of strobes.

Here in Arkansas, you can pretty much run what you want. Many times we drive our POVs to the scene. We are almost required to have sirens if we run lights. The wig wag + siren seems to move the most traffic for me. Would love the strobes, but got to many other things I want to do to the truck ( like guages ). Still don't know which wire to cut? Eskimo, like the looks of your truck!
I't is a 2004. Pulled headlight assembly, and it had 3 wires- 1 brown and 2 white (the white ones had small stripes but don't remember the color). I took this off my 2000 Ram but was in a hurry as I was trading it in so I just cut the wires
. I remember I had to hook the hot wire on the box to a ground. All three wires have power per tester, until you turn on lights, then only 2? ps> sorry I originally posted this in the wrong place!
