windsheild thickness

Can you specify a windshield that is thicker than OEM? I don't want to go in and just say "give me thicker glass". I want to know what the range available is so I can know what I'll be getting (thicker glass or the ol' smoke n mirror sales pitch)

Thanks

Didn't know that was an option a person could ask for .... except maybe on a Presidential Limo .

Out of curiosity ... what do you need thicker glass for ?

I don't know if its an option either, but have found glass installers to be poor sources for hard to find aftermarket options.

Thicker glass is a lot quiter. My job is loud and I really like a quiet cab as a change.

I figured if anyone knew about this they would be here.

Here in Mexico you can get bulletproof glass for almost any vehicle. Have seen many pickups that have been made 'bulletproof'. So presume that a thicker glass is made somewhere.
Have you done an internet search for this?

On a side note, theres many many films or glazes you can have applied to make the glass stronger/noise insulated.

I'll do a search tonight.
I think if I am going to have to get bullet proof glass I might pass on the upgrade.
I suspect the cost is a slug to the wallet. I may dodge the bullet, but I'll be broke...
