Help with Isspro Windsheild mount !
I installed my Isspro gages in a 3 pod windshield. How the hell do you get these to be flush ?I ground 1/4" off like the instruction say to but once all the gages are in stalled I cannot get it flush. I can see light on the top where the plastic meets the headliner. I have light all the round the gages. It looks terrible and yes I took off 3/8" off the mounting screws off of each gage so there is no interference. It is very tight to say the least. Anybody have any pointers with this type of install with Isspro gages. Thanks
i stalled my gauges into the over head windshield mount and there ain't much room to get the holds on the gauges. i ended up with 2 gauges that have the holders in place and one gauge without. i did cut the brass studs back so that the gauges would fit. the gauges them selves didn't fit the openings very good, very loose, so the one gauge without the holder, i used dumb dumb, which is what i call it, it is like a black sticky putty like stuff some times found on trim pieces, stereo shops use it.i put some on the gauge and in behind and it seems to hold it in place. it does move out some times, so i just push it back in. i left the rubber bands on the gauges too, just around the bezel, not sure if i was to leave it there, but it gave it some cushion.
i didn't put the windshield mount in the middle of my windshield, i put it just to the drivers side of the rear view mirror. i too had light come through the top part of the pod, so i used some rubber trim from some old fender flares on the top side that rests up on the head liner. seems to be working so far, a little light at the corn comes through but not bad at all.
not sure where you would get some trim to fit on there, if you never had any bush wacker fender flares, you might not know what i am talking about, but maybe some smaller door edge trim might work too.i also didn't trim anything off the pod, jst stuck it up there.
the plugs for the wires are stuck under the head liner, and i think it would fit a little better if they weren't there as the head liner is sticking down a little in that spot.i like the gauges , but what a pain to install into that pod,if i ever take it down for any reason, i will be making some changes to the wiring, and eliminating the plugs altogetheri think i will hot glue the gauges into the pod as well instead of the holders.
