Windex for chrome!

Try it next time you wash the truck & let the sun hit it! You'll love it! (Maybe an old trick .....don't know)

Yep, been doing it for years. Quick detailing on a Harley Davidson.

Considering that I just washed all of my windows and glass everything with a bottle of Windex...

Is it safe to use Windex on car windows?

It isn't going to want to act like Rain-X, is it?

And now I guess that I have to go out and do my chrome with it too...

Windex won't act like rain-x at all. I've done it for years. Now I just wax the chrome and it looks great. Speaking of which, time to get back and finish detailing. I forgot how much trash these trucks can hold.

You ain't lieing. I just finished washing my truck. Got the power washer out and got all the rode grime/salt off under the truck, gotta stay on top of that or I will have a rust bucket in no time.

I tried the Windex on the chrome, it worked decent for the bling effect but didn't help any with the water spots. Our water up here is from a well and tends to leave them excessively everywhere. The best product I found for removing waterspots is Stoners Glass Cleaner, of course I ran out when I need it.

The best I've found is a synthetic chamois called the absorber. I kid you not. I've got a dark blue truck and when the water dries it spots it BAD. All I do is wipe it down with one of those and boom, no more water spots. I do agree though, stoner's makes some great window cleaner. And like you, when I finally need it I'm out.

I don't usually do alot of chrome polishing because most of my stuff is aluminum. To polish that I use Vim Household Cleaner. Works great and gets rid of residue.

Windex is the truckers friend. Have to have a bottle somewhere in the corner of the cab. Washes hands, a cup or dish, cleans rubber floor mats. The dash, windows, and so on. Could not be without it. I use it every day on the truck.
