This Will Be Close

This asteroid will come very close to Earth in February, lets see how close watch video. If it just happens to hit the earth it would equal a 2.4 megatons of TNT blast.

That's crazy how they can predict things like this nowadays!!!! Mind boggling at best. Seems it's only a matter of time (probably not in our lifetime) before Earth is hit with a monstrous rock making for some big boom boom!!

The Earth will dodge a bullet this time. This asteroid going faster then a speeding bullet, asteroid will be traveling at 7.8 kilometers per second, roughly eight times the speed of a bullet from a high-speed rifle. If it had hit the Earth it would equal 2.4 megatons of TNT and could have leveled 820 square miles. We are very lucky this time around. February 15th it will go by the Earth, it will look like a small star moving fast across the sky.

If this country survives another 10 - 20 years and world warfare moves to space, we'll have the capability to nuke something like that and make a brilliant meteor shower out of it.

Not the Big One 2012 DA14, if it was that city would be a big hole in the ground now. As the Earth goes across the ecliptic of our galaxy we will see more asteroids heading our way, not science fiction but science fact. This asteroid did not come from the asteroid belt but from the direction of th center of our galaxy. The same direction asteroid 2012DA14 came from. Since the planets orbit the Sun at 60.2 degrees inclination between the ecliptic and the galactic plane the galatic center of our galaxy where a Black hole that is 4 million times larger then our Sun is located. We are passing thru this Galatic plane of our Galaxy and will be in the Bulls Eye for asteroids for the next few years.

They say that the Chelyabinsk asteroid arriving at around the same time as the bigger one is just a cosmic coincidence.
Were they able to determine that it came from a totally different area or something?

Nope, one was going thisaway, and one was going thataway. Just a coincidence.

However, if the Russian rock had come in straight instead of tangental as it did, it would have made a pretty significant hole in the ground.
