Not in his current status, "Muted User."

New bet. Will Big Blue ever be alowed to post again?

I guess this will start a curse on this site that no one will make it past 9,995. The Bg Blue Curse.

I see a few possible outcomes...

1. This thread gets locked before I finish typing this, so nobody's going to ever read this anyways.
2. He's going to have to rejoin as Big Red, which shall be hilarious as his truck shall still be blue. Or maybe he'll have to enlist my Photoshop expertise in order to fix that problem.
3. He's already spazzed so hard the admins are going to be served warrants for wrongful death and/or pain and suffering.
4. He's going to be at 9,999 forever, and muting him was only an excuse for Top to figure out how to re-write the code in order to do that.
5. The entire post-count thing shall be percieved as seriously overblown, and the entire system shall be abolished by the time Blue gets to 9,999.

And right now he's reading all of our posts, frothing at the mouth, and plotting horrible, mis-guided revenge... I would be afraid of repercussion, but since Cowhand is already outside my window dressed like Corporal Klinger, I figure that it couldn't get much worse...

I say no. We seem to have some MAJOR ****'s on this board now. My father and I "grew up" on this board (99cummins). To have one of the Admin/****'s Ban his IP not letting me on the site at home is about as rude as it comes. We/ HE has spent MANY MANY MANY thousands of dollars at site sponsors. Should I start talking to a few of the sponsors, showing them a few other sites which will not be so ban happy, and is like what this site used to be 3-4 years ago?

I imagine this will more then likely get deleted and I'll be banned, but if it does anyone else some good, it is worth it in my book. Please just remember you are dealing with diesels future (Diesel Tech Student, and planning on hitting the engineering side of the field)

Just putting in my 2 cents

After reading BigBlue's (tyler?) thread, I saw nothing but laughing in it. How did this get him muted? Did someone take offense to something? Does someone have a sand pile under them?

Chalk it up to a case of "Brain-Fade", or whatever.
When our own members recognize that what was said was against site rules and question it, we can't sit back and pretend it didn't happen.
With close to 10,000 posts, BB should have been very aware of what will and won't be tolerated on this site.

PS: the Net-**** statement was a nice touch 99PC.

Money doesn't buy permission to break the site rules. Our rules are not much different than any of the other big diesel truck forums - but we enforce them whether you are a newbie, a site sponsor, or the top poster. If you think that's rude, then try to find a more polite place to post.

You mean Big Blue got kicked out because someone (possibley me) gave him a hard time about a word he used? I hope he was saying some other things in another thread that I didn't see, otherwise I guess I'll have to avoid College Station.

I don't really know what happened here, but just a question. Doesnt this site automatically filter bad words when you post, or is that the admins doing it? If the site does it automatically, and if I understand correctly that he got muted for saying that word, how is it his fault since the site didn't filter it? Once again I don't know what went down and I am just asking a question.

1. Not kicked out. Muted temporarily. Two vastly different things.
2. Nothing to do with you. Same thing would have happened without your comment.

We have rules here and we enforce them. You can read them if you click on the "privacy statement" link at the bottom of any page.

Good question. The site does have filtering software, but certain compound words, some words with two meanings, and "forbidden" words misspelled or spelled "creatively" have to be edited out manually. Just so everybody is clear, here are the sections of the rules that apply:

You agree, through your use of the DieselTruckResource.Com forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, racially based or biased, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of ANY law... ...In addition, for the use of this forum, profane posts should be considered those completely spelled words, or partially spelled words with use of keyboard symbols that suggest a profane meaning. We repeat, profane posts will absolutely not be tolerated on this website and its forums.
Put very simply - keep it "G" rated, be civil, and you'll never get a PM from me.

Because as a responsible people, we have to understand and accept the consequences of our actions. Filter or no filter, it's not acceptable. We did not ban him from the site and the issue was dealt with professionally with him via private message. He has been around for a long time, and he is a member in good standing. All is good.

Net ****? Ever hear of Godwins' Law? Look it up. In addition, the rules apply to everyone, not just a few. You saying this kind of thing reminds me of the person who gets stopped for doing 90 in a 55 and then yells at the cop like it's his fault, telling to go chase real criminals, like robbers and murderers.

We/ HE has spent MANY MANY MANY thousands of dollars at site sponsors. Should I start talking to a few of the sponsors, showing them a few other sites which will not be so ban happy, and is like what this site used to be 3-4 years ago?
This site hasn't changed. People change, situations change but this site has been the same since the beginning, and it has been run consistently and fairly. If you broke the rules and got called out on it, then blame yourself. Be a rare human being and accept your personal responsibility. It's so rare these days given that by running this site, I see the worst in people all the time. What I mean is that if people don't get their way, or if they break a rule and then the consequences come down on them, they always find a way to try and blame it on me, the site, the moderators or Lary. It's never "their" fault because God Forbid that the rules apply to them. It's okay for everyone else, but "not me for Heavens' Sake!" You can tell the sponsors whatever you want because at the end of the day, they care about the bottom line and quite honestly, most of our members are quite happy with the way our site is run and that is why they STAY here. If you want a free for all where you can get spammed to death and cuss out your buddy; showing disrespect and the lack of personal responsibility, then by all means tell them and go somewhere else while claiming that us Net ****'s were so very mean to you.

However, if you want a place that encourages you to speak your mind while at the same time having some personal responsibility and respect, then by all means, we'd love to have you stay.

I imagine this will more then likely get deleted and I'll be banned, but if it does anyone else some good, it is worth it in my book.
Read the rules of our site, then explain to me why this thread would get deleted or banned. Or better yet, your post. You posted your opinion. Yes, you were demeaning and mean, but you voiced it nonetheless without breaking the rules. So for that, your post gets to stay. See how that works? It's really pretty simple.

Please just remember you are dealing with diesels future (Diesel Tech Student, and planning on hitting the engineering side of the field)

Just putting in my 2 cents
And you always can, as long as you're respectful and follow the rules of the site.
