Wild and Rockin' Coffee House - August 11 - 17
Good morning all y'all. Today is going to be a busy day. I need to do a bunch of lawn mowing this morning and then we are heading into the city this afternoon for my MIL's 70th birthday.
NE, what are you doing with the high tensile fence? My place used to be a quarter horse breeding operation so it is all done in high tensile smooth wire. That fence seems to only be useful for horses. The neighbor's cows just walk right through it. One rough weekend early in our time here, the cattle were in our fields 12 times in one day. The neighbors had to come get them every time. Barbed wire went up between our fields and theirs the next day. That was the low point in our relationship with our neighbors. We are best of friends now.
I think the high voltage electro-braid fencing that is around these days is one of the best inventions ever for livestock control. If I remember correctly, you can charge a few miles of fence with one charger.
Have a good day everyone.

I do have a problem. To lose weight I swore off beer or any Etoh for a month and no more daily cigar (again).
That was two weeks ago. Tonight I ate a bunch of Nachos with lots of jalapeño, one pound of black licorice and a bunch of string cheese.
The whole no booze lose weight thing is a bunch of bull.

Shorts, that was good old street justice and karma at work. (Pretty good drop kick too!) The only thing that would have made it better would be if someone would have mugged him when HE was on the ground.
Afternoon all.
Must have gotten routed through Chaikwa's servers last night. I could load 2-3 pages and the server would time out.
Hi tensile is for cattle. Once they get a couple good shocks they tend to leave it alone. If it's really dry you might have to put a ground rod on the middle (dead) wire to get the current back through the ground to the charger. Had to do that last year. Calves had so little ground contact, plus the dry soil, that a couple pastures, they walked through it like nothing was there. We run 3 wires, top and bottom hot, and you have to spend the cash on a good charger. I think the solar going on the fence we are working on now ran nearly $500 or better.
The one pasture is 100% tensile, and the charger that heats most of it, you DO NOT WANT TO GRAB THE WIRE!!!! It will even get you while standing on the plastic foot guards on the 4-wheeler. I bet they had a junk charger or poor charger ground on that fence.

NE - my bad, what I was calling electrobraid, you are calling high tensile. What I was calling high tensile is a very tightly strung smooth wire. No electricity in the high tensile I was referring to.

Afternoon Tallguy, Rick, NE and et alia
Thought we were supposed to eat the legs?
Stupid Russian! If he would have taken the purse instead of the phone she wouldn't have been able to stop yakking long enough to fight back
.
Only thing better is the zucchini, pumpkin banana bread my Mom used to make.
Raining here. Converting a few more failing T-12 lights to T-8's and finally got rid of the last of the Circlines in the original part of the house.
Wish I could get motivated enough to finish the drywalling I started 10 years ago.

Nutting. Just staying dry and checking the computer for email from my Nigerian Prince. Wazzup wit yooz?
Our hi tensile is a very strong galvanized wire, that is about impossible to cut with anything less than fencing pliers, and can give fencing pliers a run for their money. You put up brace posts at the ends and stretch it real tight.
A lot of people back east would put up 6-7 strands of hi tensile and put a couple wooden slats on it between posts to keep the spacing. Problem was it would short through the slats when they got wet. Walked up to one of the first ones that went in back there and leaned against it. About the time we touched 3 or 4 wires at once we finally got shocked. It was supposed to be off so we could rebuild that tank dike but the welltender forgot it.
For our temporary fences we just stick rods in the ground and run normal smooth wire.
I'm tired of spraying the fencelines at the home place. Gallon of round-up, 3 quarts Grazon, 2 quarts Salvo, 2 quarts Rifle, and then fill the 15 gallon tank with water. Shtuff better start dying!!!!
Well all y'all, it is kind of quiet in here tonite. Not the worst I have ever seen, but still a little peaceful. B'day party for my mother-in-law was nice. The drive to the city was a darn gong show but the drive home was uneventful. Our 4 month old puppy is a litter-mate to the puppy the inlaws have. The puppies beat the heck out of each other for the entire 43.5 hrs we were there. Our little angel is EXHAUSTED tonite - that is awesome. DW and I were on the deck until a few mins ago. A nasty squall line came over and the wind chased us into the house. I thought I would check in with the breakroom crew before heading to bed.
So, I just tucked the dragon in, cleaned up the dragon spoor in the corner of the room (does no one let her out to do her business??), loaded up the drip coffee maker, espresso machine, coffee percolator (the best camping coffee) and the ph00 machine for the morning. The fresh cinnamon buns are rising in the fridge (whoever is up first in the morning please put them in the oven) and there is a box of Timbits (Americans in the room, please Google Tim Horton's and Timbits) with extra sprinkles ready to go on the counter.
So, whichever enlightened Admin stops by next, please shut down this week's breakroom (I have cleaned up, prepped for next week and put new fuel in the stove) and open us up a new, exciting and inclusive new breakroom.
G'Night all y'all.
