Finally got some spare time. Checked in for the first time in several days!!! Missed quite a bit. NE.....I love pics of old steam locomotives!! Scott.....dude....you're really starting to resemble Chewbaka....with suspenders!! Contraption you built looks pretty massive....what is a wood processsor anyhow?

Only had 6hrs sleep since Monday morning.....hence, no time for DTR. I know, shame on me. I'm trying to make up for that. Just got finished watching our downpour outside water in my fertilizer and fungicide I put out yesterday evening. Hope it was enough to get it started. Yard could sure make use of all three......especially the rain!

Hoping to make a return in the morning to see whats happnin'. Ya'll stay safe tonight! Later.

I'm currently sitting on the B.C. coast waiting for a ferry to go across to Vancouver island.
I'm tired and after I drop this load I may have a run down to Twin Falls Idaho or all the way to Indiana or... hopefully straight home for a few days.

Mornin' all.

It's Thursday, August 15th. At noontime the month will be half over already.

1877 - Thomas Edison wrote to the president of the Telegraph Company in Pittsburgh, PA. The letter stated that the word, "hello" would be a more appropriate greeting than "ahoy" when answering the telephone.

1911 - The product Crisco was introduced by Procter & Gamble Company.

1914 - The Panama Canal was officially opened to commercial traffic as an American ship sailed from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean.

1918 - Diplomatic ties between the U.S. and Russia were severed.

1935 - Will Rogers and Wiley Post were killed in an airplane crash in near Point Barrow, AK.

1943 - Because of his special talent to use food scraps in both unusual and appetizing recipes, the U.S. War Department awarded Sgt. Edward Dzuba the Legion of Merit.

1944 - The Allied forces of World War II landed in southern France.

1945 - The Allies proclaimed V-J Day a day after Japan agreed to surrender unconditionally.

1961 - East German workers began construction of the Berlin Wall.

1971 - U.S. President Nixon announced a 90-day freeze on wages, rents and prices.

1992 - Vietnam blamed Hollywood for creating the "myth" concerning the issue of U.S. servicemen still being held prisoner in Indochina.

2000 - A group of 100 people from North Korea arrived in South Korea for temporary reunions with relatives they had not seen for half a century. Also, a group of 100 South Koreans visited the North.

2001 - Astronomers announced the discovery of the first solar system outside our own. They had discovered two planets orbiting a star in the Big Dipper.

Today's thought:
Some researchers believe life is a dream and death is actually waking up.

Coffee and ph00 are ready.

T.O.B.& F. today!

Morning - - finally a few came out of hiding last night - - thought something was going on somewhere and I was missing it. Looked and looked and couldn't find it.

Just racking up those miles on baby - - love Vancouver Island. Was there last year for a week or so for the first time. Been all around it on boat, stayed a week on San Juan right there by it, but had never been on it. Neat place - - quaint in some places, modern in others, but quiet and peaceful and gorgeous flowers. Like it - - drive safe.

Grabbing quick and ph00 and off to the doc for check up. Better go get beautiful and put on some deodorant - - - PHEW.

Hi Justin!!!
you are too good of a guy to disrespect, so I apologize for my pet chiakwa.

a firewood processor will start with six to eight 24 inch diameter 15 feet or so long logs, and by chain drive, load one at a time into the trough to be cut to size by a hydraulically operated chainsaw bar. still automated, the cut log will be split four ways by a remote cylinder (in this case, a garbage compactor ram )operated by the operator but automatically return to start position. you can process a cord of word in about ten minutes when working, depending on a few variables. 16 inch to 4 foot long log stumps will be about the firewood order, might have to split smaller for indoor wood stoves, secondary heat.

ok, now to read some more posts, long day today. met with people, got a parking ticket before the temp parking signs were pounded in the ground. You can protest a parking ticket, so I get to go to city Court next month, whoopppeeeeeee! I was just going to pay the ticket but the official complained about the police dept, an actual public meeting next week on the over aggressiveness by the PD. lot of good citizens upset. count me in!

All that hair will work better than a helmet - - more cushioning. Only thing he has to worry about is getting all caught up in that machinery and pulling his head down into the machine - - - ...............

Rain drove me back in from my work today - - almost done with the planting. More due tomorrow, so will try and sneak the last plants in the ground between drops. Got some garbage brewing down in the gulf and two storms heading across the Atlantic. Things are getting nervous - - they can go somewhere else - - we can get our rain from our nice thunderstorms each day - - don't need all that hot air blowing our houses apart.

Had another inch of rain today. This week we have had more than all last year. Got the last batch of calves worked as well. Got soaked putting fence in this afternoon. We got the holes drilled and posts dropped in and put up a couple insulators to get the wire off the ground. Getting rid of a ton of barb wire. YYYAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!

Ordered exhaust gaskets and lower ball joint for the Dodge. Looking at Summit Racing for exhaust studs tonight realized I forgot the turbo gasket too.

Speaking of which,, Somebody stole my Stihl M-29 farmboss, some propane tanks and other misl items from the shed behind the place.
Its the only spot without a camera. Wasn't my best saw but I have never had anything stolen before (I was always the guy taking reports).
Whoever stole it doesn't realize that I will get it back.
Another neighbor without a security system got some guns and stuff taken and not only is he mad but he is also crazy.

Got back from a forced trip north. Yesterday I saw a car hit a black bear. The bear left the scene under its own power, the Toyota did not.

Nice to sleep in my own bed. I am looking forward to doing some recon in the morning.

Why on earth would anyone want one of those? Even if it's free it ain't worth it, much less if you have to take a chance of gettin' caught while stihling it. <see what I did there?>

1777 - During the American Revolutionary War, the Battle of Bennington took place. New England's minutemen routed the British regulars.

1812 - Detroit fell to Indian and British troops in the War of 1812.

1829 - The "Siamese twins," Chang and Eng Bunker, arrived in Boston, MA. They had come to the Western world to be exhibited. They were 18 years old and joined at the waist.

1858 - A telegraphed message from Britain's Queen Victoria to U.S. President Buchanan was transmitted over the recently laid trans-Atlantic cable.

1861 - U.S. President Lincoln prohibited the Union states from trading with the states of the Confederacy.

1923 - Carnegie Steel Corporation put into place the eight-hour workday for its employees.

1960 - The free-fall world record was set by Joseph Kittinger. He fell more than 16 miles (about 84,000 feet) before opening his parachute over New Mexico.

1978 - Xerox was fined for excluding Smith-Corona Mfg. from the copier market. The fine was $25.6 million.

1995 - Voters in Bermuda rejected independence from Great Britain.

Today's thought:

Morning yall. It's raining here. But got my coffee. Making a pick up from the airport in a couple hours.

I shall have Bohemian Rhapsody in my head all day long now. Thanks Scott!

All this talk of firewood reminds me I need to make a run for a fresh load of mesquite. And hair is safety equipment huh? Doesn't safety equip. have to be painted a hi-viz color?

JWBM, any chocolate pups at your kennel?

Bob, that's some encouraging news your granddaughter gets to go to the fair. Jailbreaking will do her some good. I remember when I was stuck in there how badly I needed to get out, go eat and just feel normal. The hospital was closing in and feeling like a prison. The hardest part was going back. I wanted to flee the country

Scotty, have safe travels.

Scotty if you get to Indiana, do a couple more miles to KY. State fair is on in Louisville. If you do, give me a holler.
