Shorts, I hear ya girl! glad you could come out and play! hope the airport pickup is someone who shares your name, heheh.
yes, two choco labs and sooo smart. both are the type to follow you around, real companions. I looked online for pics but they must have been put on a different site (advertising as opposed to humane shelter site), have to check.
one golden has the big block head and is the dominant pup. after terrorizing the other pups he lays down, then the siblings get their revenge. pups R fun.

chaikwa, feeling frisky this AM aren't we? take your monthly bath?
ya don't respond to an honest question (Texans have no real trees) but trash any reply. tsk tsk. I know you are missing Cincy, but let 's not be so nasty to fine DTR members. snicker snicker
I am sure truckie Tim will ban you upon request. pick on Shorts and Top will have you in his sights.....

Evening y'all.

Shorts, sorry if I offended you. I don't remember what I might've said, but the OLDer sister has spoken, so I must've.

Up and out early in the AM so I won't have time to post my usual morning drivel. As such, I'll let you have it now.

Saturday, August 17th:

1790 - The capital city of the U.S. moved to Philadelphia from New York City.

1807 - Robert Fulton's "North River Steam Boat" (known as the "Clermont") began heading up New York's Hudson River on its successful round-trip to Albany.

1835 - Solyman Merrick patented the wrench.

1863 - Federal batteries and ships bombarded Fort Sumter in Charleston, SC, harbor during the Civil War.

1896 - The Klondike gold rush was set off by George Carmack discovering gold on Rabbit Creek in Alaska. And a man named 'Bark' was there.

1903 - Joseph Pulitzer donated a million dollars to Columbia University. This started the Pulitzer Prizes in his name.

1915 - Charles F. Kettering patented the electric, automobile self-starter.

1943 - The Allied conquest of Sicily was completed as U.S. and British forces entered Messina.

1961 - The Communist East German government completed the construction of the Berlin Wall.

1996 - A military cargo plane crashed in Wyoming killing eight crewmembers and a Secret Service employee. The plane was carrying gear for U.S. President Clinton.

1996 - Ross Perot was announced to be the Reform Party's presidential candidate. It was the party's first-ever candidate.

1998 - U.S. President Clinton admitted to having an improper relationship with Monica Lewinsky, a White House intern.

1998 - NationsBank and BankAmerica merge to create the largest U.S. bank.

Today's (tomorrow's actually), thought:
If you rearrange the letters in "The Titanic disaster" you get, "Death, it starts in ice".

Remember B0b& family in your thoughts and prayers.

Who knows if the coffee and ph00 will get made?

Evenin' gang - - worked in yard from 6am - - still dark - - had to feel around for where to dig the holes. But it was cooler and no rain yet today. Does not look good for rain tonight, so I will go back out and water all the new stuff. I was drenched and tired to be sure. Came in, got my suit and hit the pool and just layed in that cool water while the blonde brought me a cup of ph00 and a blue berry muffin. Boy I was tired. But, all the planting is done and all the new areas are mulched. Still have about 20 more bags of mulch to lay out tomorrow.

Speaking of which,, Somebody stole my Stihl M-29 farmboss, some propane tanks and other misl items from the shed behind the place.
Its the only spot without a camera. Wasn't my best saw but I have never had anything stolen before (I was always the guy taking reports).

Nice to sleep in my own bed. I am looking forward to doing some recon in the morning.
I thought it moved slower too until I saw my friend bite it two weeks ago. All was looking good - - suddenly he goes back in for a fever and is dead the next day. Wow, talk about quick. I didn't even know about it until he was gone. Sorry about the stuff missing - - rotten when you have to put everything in Ft Knox to keep it around. Someone knows your schedule. Good to see you back home - - and the bed thingy - - that is why we love rolling in the fiver - - we take our own bed with us everywhere. Most times when we park in someone's drive, we sleep in our home. Easier on them and on us. We walk in and we are "home."

Heidi - - you keep that Scott straight, girl. He needs ya. ............

Oh yeh, someone will get the coffee on in the morning, I am sure. If not, it may be afternoon - - I will be back out early in the morning, so might not get done until after lunch.

Scotty - - run safe, big boy.

Gonna go water plants and dindin should be ready by then. CYA,

Oh yeh, talked to weeone today - - she is still pretty monotone, but wanted to talk to grandy - - I think mostly because they were headed in for their Friday appointment and she had to tell me she didn't want to go. At least she is wanting to tell me things again - - didn't know this would be this tough. Can only imagine what it is doing to mommy and daddy. OUCH

Good evening all y'all,
As I suspected, the first week back at work after 2 weeks of vacation wasn't a whole lot of fun. I was surprised though, I only had 357 emails in my inbox when I sparked up the computer on Monday morning. Once I culled the spam and stuff that was obviously not important, I was down to 70 emails that required action.
It is SO hot here for southern Alberta. Right now it is 90F in the shade. It has been like this for the last 4 days. DW and I will definitely be going in the pool to cool off tonight.
JWBM - there are some days where you are best to put down tools and have a safety day (nobody works, nobody gets hurt).

Glad to see that by and large, everybody is being about the same as normal.

Back atcha later.

Yeah, you sometimes wonder if the Vacation was worth it.

stihling it! That actually cheered me up. Gotta call AST and tell them to use that in their report.
All kidding aside, it still burns me up to know that some scum actually came on my property and stole something.

Yup, and it seems like there are more of them every day.

Its possible. Since the neighbors house got hit about the same time I am hoping it was a normal theft.
However, since it was my shed (the only place around here without camera coverage) I have to wonder.

Guess we need reminders about how short life is. Just wish the best reminders didn't involve the best people in our lives.

Remembered some old film in the fridge that I had been storing forever so today at the Wall-Mart photo dept I asked the gal about processing 35mm film.
She said they still get a few rolls a day that they ship out.
I said "you probably don't see much Kodachrome anymore".
She didn't have a clue what I was talking about.
I tried to explain to her but gave up after she had started backing up a little.
She said all 35mm film is the same, it goes in a box and gets shipped out.
I asked her if she had heard the song by Paul Simon. She asked me if he was related to Simon Cowell.
I told her if she would look up Paul Simon I would look up Simon Cowell. She said she would (probably to get rid of me) so I left.
I think I am becoming that creepy old guy that security keeps an eye on.

Oh Yeah, chaikwa,Your Husky is what is on the ground after a STIHL takes a dump.

The last drug store in America that did the one-hour Kodachrome development shut the machine off for good a couple years ago. I'm sure someone has the capability but who knows where?

They actually had people lined up trying to have the last roll developed.

Watched Dirty Mary Crazy Larry tonight. I think that movie is probably why I have always wanted a limelight Charger. The DVD is done up like the old tic-toc-tach, which gave me the idea- wonder if one could be made to fit in a first-gen?

Gotta work tomorrow. Got about 3/4 mile of barb wire torn down and hi-tensile up. Looks like we may end up tearing out about 3/4 of the barb wire around that pasture.

Hoping to get parts picked up from NAPA and get the left front corner of the Dodge back together this weekend.

Funny, I don't like that color on any other cars except the Charger. Must be the body style.

I do have a problem. To lose weight I swore off beer or any Etoh for a month and no more daily cigar (again).
That was two weeks ago. Tonight I ate a bunch of Nachos with lots of jalapeņo, one pound of black licorice and a bunch of string cheese.
The whole no booze lose weight thing is a bunch of bull.

food is done! water balloons packed. gifts for friends. I even stripped the mudbugs, so they didn't have to deal with claws and legs.......taking the bike for a ride.
