I think it's more about pulling air out (draft) to get the air moving through the airbox. As a side benefit it reduces the sparks exiting the stack and reduces the buildup on the inside of the stack and back of the firebox.
Shorts - you saide the snow cone shop was less than 5 mins away. Grab the amaretto and git 'er done. That will either cool you down or make you care about the heat a whole lot less.
You're right about that kinda truck being cheaper. Here, it's cheaper to insure as well. And even my big, OLD semi-sized truck with 870,000 miles on it gets 10 miles per gallon pulling our fire safety trailer and I feel a heck of a lot safer in it as well. I'll never go back!
Sorry y'all didn't get your history report this morning. I had it all typed out, hit 'Submit' and all I got was a blank page. Tried to go back and it wouldn't. Didn't have time to do it all over again.
Chaikwa - here, let me help out.
This day in history:
2013 - Chaikwa didn't post history lessons for the people on DTR who depend upon him.
Thought for the day:
If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around

will put up some pics of his firewood processor build, partially built.
that poor furry one can't touch that project for three minutes without the business phones ringing, some one needing his worldly advice, or a delivery, errand, safety training commitment, people stopping in with something broken needing repair or ... well, you get the idea. had to come back home to get some peace n quiet!!!!
that truck he built Scottycanuck, is one sweet ride. very very smooth and quiet, guts to get away uphill as well. He defineitely is the one to toss some ideas around with; big, atlas stones? not so much.....
wait.....
not again....

JWBM - you do realize that Scottycanuck's homeland (Saskatchewan) is so flat that you can see your dog run away for 3 days. He doens't need much power for hills.....
OK - I really need to get back to work. Vacation was over 2 days ago. I should not be on DTR while at the office

Thanks... I think.
I musta missed that part!
But thanks for bringing our friend Jim along!
Yeah, do that. I'd like to see what it looks like!
You OWN that office, do what you wanna do! If anyone says anything, tell 'em to go... uh... just tell 'em to GO!

Had an iggy attack today, went out of town and left the charger for the computer at the house. (DUH) Oh well, be back home tomorrow. Anybody need a nice hole in the ground? It looks like we now have to leave ours open. It's free, bring your truck, come and get it.

Mercy - - two posts all day. Think you scared everyone away, Scott. Hey, I don't think you cut your hair since the last time I saw you - - which was several years ago. .............
............love your thought for the day - - he sure knows how to hold that haughty pose, doesn't he. What a jerk - - and he is our president. HORRORS.
Need a ph00 bad - - been out most of the day working at putting in new plants across the back of the lanai - - freeze took them out two years ago. Starting to look finished - - finally. Sure hot out there. Messed up the back moving two large gardenias to new locations. Don't have a whole lot of hope for them - - they are tough to move when mature. We will see. Glad to see this one come to an end - - too many other things on that list yet that are screaming for attention.
OK ...........
..............
.............GOOD.
GONE - - for now,
OH, got some pics from Seattle - - our little gal tested out soooo good over the weekend, they gave her permission to go to the fair if she wore mask and they wiped everything before she touched it. First time I have seen a smile on her bloated little face in 5 weeks - - sure looked nice. Sure hurts to see her like that.
OK, again - - GONE.
Bob

Nice to hear she's making positive progress none-the-less.
Evening all. Got a little more done on the processor today but still waiting on parts. I DID get the $800 valve yesterday tho. 2" inlets and 1 1/2" work ports. Now if I just had the other 8 valves and the pump...
