why are people such idiots
I know time and time again this has been posted and argued and everything else, but here I sit at work, ( Yes I know i have a car now, doesnt mean I dont love diesels anymore, and I still tweak with my dads) And one of my coworks comes out and sees me on this site and starts carrying on about how great the ford diesel is compared to the dodge and chevy. I sat there and listened, amazed at how dumb people are and just started in as usual about the issues with the 6.0h no and apparantly, according to him, Ferd still owns cummings and Designed the injection system to the new ISBs....-.- oh and then also since the 2005 and up cummings engines have been having problems with ONE of their turbos he thinks they are really crappy....(
) I dont know I just need to give up on trying to help people see the light. When I started in about 8 vs. 6 he said " there you go, 8 is more so its better" and I just ended it right there.....Oh well..
*oh ya he drives a toyota....
I know cummins is the better engine but what makes people actually think that the powerchoke is so much better, he said chevy was the worst of them and that made me laugh cause I think the Dmax is a halfway decent engine, my ex GF had one and it could scoot.

I don't even bother anymore. I let people who want to talk crap keep jabbering, and watch who's at the finish line first, with over 100K on his truck.
That still won't shut them up though, because once they realize the Cummins is the better engine then the other brand drives better than a Dodge, or something else about brand X is better than a Dodge.
I will participate in a little ribbing of the guy with the other brand, but I never bother with a full-blown argument. It just isn't worth my time.

There are people the debate everything and talk smack on things they problably will never own. I bought this truck cause it had the cummins, not cause it's a dodge, not cause it has a 48RE tranny, I bought it for the engine. I can buy a bullet proof tranny, buy this, buy that but the motor will not need work. These new designed ford/chevy motors have issues, they will work the bugs out over the years, but when a new version comes out, they have them. I wanted reliability and motor for work. I work this cummins and I haven't had one issue (well sputtering, but a new fuel pump, no issues now)
Some people have to seem big about what they don't know. me I just let them talk and walk away. half the time they don't even know you left
I'm going to start a company, name it CumminGs and see if Ford will buy me out just so we can truthfully say Ford owns CumminGs....

Edit: after all..it would be one of the most famous companies out there among Ford owners!

If I had as much time as other certain members on this site, I would look at every one of the four thousand some posts from Hoss and see how many of them cover the point that "Ford OWNS Cummins"
I am sure it would be quite a lot....
Oh, arguments over quality dont work when you own the best.

My guess is that about 99% of the people who like the Powerjoke, like it because it is in a Ford. I still haven't figured out the appeal of a Ford pickup, and why is is apparently so much better than what GM or Dodge offers? I guess that the Superduty has an advantage of being available in so many different configurations, and luckily Chyrsler has maybe figured this out and is now offering the chassis-cab heavy duty pickup, as well as the mega cab.
I also thinks its just because dodge did have the issues for a while, and then also, ford has all the " Special edition" stuff like the harley davidson and the King Ranch....either that or it is because it is just the most expensive of the three usually...at least out here it is....so people just assume it is the best. When I had my dodge I always got flack about it being a dodge even when one kids Powerjoke 6.0 blew up and then a month later his turbo went out and then the two kids with duramaxi's both had head issues or something either way, I never had a problem with my truck I was just having other issues....Like foot ones. either way that truck was a blast and I plan on owning another one, Not a FORD, and not a CHEVY or GMC even though they ride nice. I want a rough tough hard riding ram, just because it is like our family call sign and I love dodges.

I go through this alot with my two "Die Hard" Ford buddies. I told them that there are two ways to tell which truck is the one to buy .
1--- look and see what the farmers are using. They rely on their trucks for alot more than just a trip to the store.
2--- Look in local Auto Trader classified magazines. Powerstrokes are a dime a dozen. But good luck finding a Cummins in there that doesn't have 200,000+ miles on it. Why get rid of a good thing....

I cant say that, everyone out here has a ford...there is like a total of 15 dodges in this whole town. trucks anways, everyone else has a powerjoke or F-150, just because there is a ford dealership in the middle of town
