This always baffled me.

My personal rule of thumb is the 2500s look better with a little lift, and 3500s look better with a little drop.

I like a lowered 2wd 3500 and a mildly lifted 4wd 2500.

That's just me.

 

I like the looks of a dually with about 2-3" and larger tires.

 

I think it is so the Ranch Hand full replacement bumper will clear the deck lid of the ricer that darts in front of you in rush hour traffic...

 

I think a dually on 35s looks cool, but as far as being practical...

I am to utiltarian with my trucks to want to own a lifted dually, but I do enjoy looking at them.

 

why lift a dually? Why not? I mean it's not like you use it to pull stuff...

 

Well, for those of us who do use 'em to pull stuff (specifically, 5th wheels), lifting is going the wrong direction.

You get less scratches on it if it contacts the rear window than you do if it contacts sheet metal.

Tires make good bumpers.

so what the real question should be is "why would you not lift a dually?"

 

I think lifted duallies are fun to look at but not really useful....I know I have no interest in lifting mine.....lifting it and putting bigger tires on it will only hurt power, towing ability, handling, mileage and so on - all the things that I want my dually to do as best it can. It's my boulevard cruiser anyway.....when I hit the trail, it's only in my Jeep!

 

I'd rather see one lifted than one slammed.... there are way too many of those driving around this town.

 

I like the looks of slightly lowered dually's, to tell the truth. Not touching the ground with tinted windows and graphics, but slightly lowered.

Dually's should be wide, and lowering them makes them look wider.

Exactly my thoughts

what good is a pullin machine if u cant hook a trailer to it every so often? Duallies are nice to look at lifted and i think anything with tires taller than 35 on a 3/4 ton will hurt you for pullin goosenecks, i pull alot of different trailers, so i cannot lift my truck much more.

to those of you taht can lift them, SWEET! i admire u, but until i can make this one or another my toy, i just cannot put me to do it...
