Ok on Florida, but New York has that Sullivan Law. And a manditory jail term if you are caught carrying.

i was brought up around guns all my life but i'm not comfortable with them in my house. we have too many friends with kids and as well as i can hide things i'm still afraid that a little one may find them. i couldn't live with that on my consious. i know you can lock them up but i just can't take that chance. while i can teach my daughter gun saftey i can't teach everyone elses child. it's just a personal choice for me.

i'm not saying that it will never happen but i can't ever remember being in a situation where i needed a gun. but believe it or not. i fully support the right to bear arms. so no flames necessary .

britt

Britt, you are a Democrat through and through! You are consistent though I admire that!
Seriously though I go through the same thing. I have gun locks on my wifes and my home defense guns.

Same thing that Marine was talking about happened in Jamacia in the late 70's. It work's like this; Govt. takes away all the "registered" guns from law abiding citizens. Next, crime hits an all time high because the still gun toting criminals KNOW that almost EVERYONE is a sitting duck at that point. Sad, but most Non- African Americans, or West Indians were forced to leave out of fear for thier families lives! Interesting.
Maryland is about the WORST "May Issue" state in the US. I have been waiting about 60 day's for a response on my CCW, not holding my breath.

Statistically, most shootings occur within 7-12 feet (according to what my trainer told me on Saturday).

You might want to read up on the laws regarding using deadly force.

In Texas, you CAN legally use deadly force to prevent theft or to prevent a thief from fleeing with your stuff. Does that mean it's right? Legally....yes. Would I do it? No. That's what insurance is for. When they become a threat to me or my family then it's a different ballgame. I wouldn't shoot someone over property though. I don't want that on my concious.
