Question Where do you all live?

I have been wondering about where all of the other members live, it seems like most of you are on the Atlantic side. How is your neighborhood as far as schools, gangs, drugs, graffiti.
How much are you paying for diesel?
I live in Southern California about 30 miles east of Los Angeles is a semi upper class neighborhood of about 30,000 population, we have a county sheriff and a city police if you cross the street. In the last year more and more gangs are moving in from the Los Angeles area headed towards the San Bernardino end, and have the usual drug dealers. Tagging goes in cycles and it is easy to ID them. Today I paid $2.15 for fuel but 3 days ago only $2.07, it seems to go up and down between 5 and 10 cents every few days. It changes in the middle of the night so it seems like the dealers charge what ever think they can get away with because tomorrow it might drop 8 cents, makes no sense.
The weather here is nice usually around 75*- 80* pretty much year round though it has been getting cold here at night, down to 50*. There has been snow here but I have to go 30 miles north up to get to it. I work on computer and telco systems mainly but also security, I am a retired diesel mechanic.
I work some days but usually nights mostly due to back injuries from all of my accidents. I notice I see alot of people are on this board around 3:00 A.M. PST, do you get on before you go to work?

Just wondering about the rest of you... Jim.

Rural town in central Massachusetts at the confluence of I-84 and I-90. I'm 40 miles from work, and about 25 miles to the nearest big shopping mall. At times it has it drawbacks, but you can't beat the quality of life here; clean air, pure water;everybody knows everybody. I can leave my windows down, with my wallet and cell phone on the seat and the keys in the ignition, and they'll all be there when I get back.

Angry CALIFORNIA

That sure sounds nice.. Here the malls are about 5 miles apart, the people are rude and don't know how to drive. If you have something nice you have to watch it because it will be stollen. Now my area is not bad but I have 2 alarms on the house, alarm on the truck, digital video surviellence system on the house with 8 cameras that see in total darkness. Just to be safe.
The air is dirty, water has chemicals in it and I just had $500.00 stollen from my truck by the company that installed my truck alarm..figure that? Last April 27 2004 I was robbed at gunpoint and shot in the back. Messed up my day for ever more.
If I leave my windows down, the crazy lady at the corner has about a dozen cats and they crawl down my hood and get in the truck and p%%p.
Jim.

Wyoming at the crossover of I-25 & I-80. We have wind and lots of it! The air is never here long enough to get dirty. But just about everything else is good to go. What's this crime thing you are talking about, not much of it going on around here.
Thinking about my next career move (I am about ready to retire from the Air Force) and a move to somewhere without so much wind but with all the outdoor (hunting, boating, dragracing, and 4X4) stuff around. Any thoughts???

Gee wiz, Jim, I hope it gets better for you out there. I forgot to answer the the rest of your ?'s

Diesel here is $2.09 to $2.25

We usually have snow on the ground from early December to late March.
Normal high temps are 25-35 all winter and upper 80's in the summer. We've had a winter low of -15F so far. Until a recent warm spell I needed snow shoes to tend the birdfeeders and to walk around the land out back of me. Lots of winter activities right out your back door. Ice fishing is fun. Usually more drinking and "tailgating" than fishing.

I pay huge amounts of taxes so I guess the schools are pretty good.

up here in grand forks north dakota it's nice and cold during winter, since i've been back from over seas it's been down to -35f or so. but lately it's been nice in the 20-30's. nice and flat with a lot of wind, like blown32 said. summer time is nice but then you have musquito's everywhere. but other then that not any crime to speak of. but i get to miss the good parts of the year as i'm deployed 150-200 days a year.
