what paint etc??

i'm in the process of building a trailer. it is steel construction, and every other sttel trailer, the paint gets beat to hell with rocks, etc. plus i live in lovely wisconsin, with road salt..i'm wondering about rubberized undercoating?? what suggestions do you have. p.s i thought of bed liner stuff but to costly..

The last railer I re-did, I used the cheap bed lining from Duplepro( was about 28$ a gallon ) as an undercoating, and a marine epoxy finish on the rest. Worked realy nice...

I second the two part marine epoxy. You may have to order it in Kansas as there probably wouldn't be a whole lot of marine supply shops. That what we used on the navy ships for corrosion control. Tough stuff.

Bet ya didn't know Kansas has the largest pleasure boat construction industry in teh continental states.........least according to the state govt we do....
know theres 5 large dealers here in Topeka, and we're not near the larger lakes...just within 50 miles of 7 of the mid-sized ones......
Ks isnt realy flat ya know.......just averages out that way....

You're right. I didn't know that. In California we have the ocean and a dozen or so mud holes that they call lakes. Guess that I need to get out more. haha

Try Durabak http://www.nonslipcoating.com . Available in different colors. It can be sprayed or rolled on.

thanks for the info...speaking of lakes, minnesota logo" land of 10,000 lakes" in wisconsin we have 10,000 lakes too, but we have fish in ours
