Exactly what I used to buy until they got hard to find locally. Then it was Red Winds, never again. Took 6 months to break in and never quit turning my socks red. The last 3 pair have been Rockies with the Gortex liners. They could be cooler but my feet have never gotten wet.

I typically go with Ariat now BUT: The best work boots I ever had, and currently still have a pair are made by "Belleville" and they are Military Intermediate Cold Weather Boots. http://www.qm-supply.com/zenstore/in...products_id=84
They are hard to find but they typically last at least 3-4 years in construction and backyard mechanics for me. Good in winter, not too bad in summer, water proof and the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. Not to mention I wear them every day no matter where I go or what I do.
Highly recommended.

Gonna bring this one back up.
Needed a new pair of work boots but didn't want to spend too much, especially if they will be getting messed up and whatnot. Went to TSC and got some Schmidt Wellingtons. They have been great boots I must admit, very comfortable and holding up to abuse well. Anyone looking for some cheap decent boots these are the ticket.

I just bought a new pair of Ariat's seem to be pretty good boots
a little pricy but my feet haven't gotten wet
The only gripe I have about them is they don't breathe very good, feet get a little sweaty and stinky

Im sporting a pair of Georgia boots again for home work boots.
Ive got some off brand for work, they are holding up nicely, but have a noticeably lower heal.

danner super rainforest. wore them for about 1 year in a shipyard, welding and painting, exposed to chemicals all the time, another year welding in a shop, then another year landscaping before i had them rebuilt a couple months ago. Top notch rebuild. Leather is starting to crack, but i keep obenaufs or hubberds on them like clockwork. Super tough and comfortable, but pricey.

Hi-Tec Magnums and Danners up until my last pair, Converse Tactical, this is the best boot I have ever owned.

I love the wolverines that I have.... they are insulated almost too well unless its very cold outside.... Great for winter, but gets annoying in the warmer months or if I am indoors. Would buy again when these wear out.
