What I've been doing lately

Started with this:

Size: 25.1 KB

Removed an axle, added a few tool boxes, transferred a few from the old truck and switched the body and ended up with this:

Size: 78.6 KB
Name: Truck002A.jpg
Views: 28
Size: 82.4 KB

Still have to paint the frame and the steel sub-frames that attach everything to the truck, but that'll have to wait until spring.

The canvas covered thing under the middle of the body in this picture is my welder. It's on a 1000 lb capacity slide track that extends it clear of the body and boxes:

Did you keep the rear axle and extend the frame? Looks really nice. How do you like the interior of that international, it has to be one of my least favorite to clean(my side job is cleaning trucks)

Thanks! Not really all that remarkable tho. Nothing any idiot with a lot of time on his hands couldn't do... I'm living proof of that!

Yes, that's exactly what I did. I still have the front rear end. Going to keep the tires off of it and list it somewhere I think. I don't know if there's a market for one rear tandem or not, but if it's still around in the spring, it'll go to the scrap yard. As far as the interior goes, I have nothing to really compare it to except my old 4900 and there's really no comparison. This one is quiet, rides nice and has a lot of room, which I like. That's my only gripe with Pete's and KW's; really big trucks with this narrow, teeny little cab that you touch elbows with your passenger. Then they stuff huge front fenders on them to take up the extra width.

I like to be able to S P R E A D - O U T in a cab!

Look at the rear fenders, they are the window wells for basement escape windows .

Gotcha. That's what I was thinking, but I had never seen them before, no basements where I grew up at.

They look like a small water trough cut in half to me...

Well I was going to go with regular fenders until I saw that unless I got the plastic ones, they were window wells with 'Truck Fender' labels anyway. So that's what I did. I suppose I could paint them so they look more like 'fenders'!
