What A Great Day!!! (Year for that matter).....

A week or so ago I alluded to a major change in my life. I didn't want to give anything away because I didn't want to jinx it.

Well, it happened today. After 11 years on the job I was promoted to the rank of Captain. It took me two times testing but I got lucky this time. I say lucky because 11 years is pretty fast for this promotion. Then as a special bonus, my promotion is going to take me to T-15 in West Little Rock. This is the same apparatus that I was first assigned to 11 years ago.

This is by far the best year of my life. I have a beautiful wife and daughter, a new house, and now a new promotion and station to top it off. For the first time in a long time I feel content. After worrying and trying for over a year to sell our old house and get my family into a better neighborhood and waiting for this promotion, I feel like I can now rest for a while. Now it's time for a Cummins back in the driveway.

Take care everyone. I wish everyone the luck that I have had this year.

Britt

P.S. I guess I need to try to change my I.D. to T-15 Firefighter

Better make that 21. You have to be 21 years old in Little Rock.

1998 100' Smeal Mid-Mount Aerial Ladder. Our new apparatus should be in later this year. Supposed to be another tiller truck so I will be back in business (even though I won't be able to drive'm anymore).

It steers in both the front and rear to make tighter turns.

Britt,
Is that the truck that you're getting replaced? We probably couldn't even afford to buy that one up here, much less a new one.
