My 91 Toyota was a gem...until I finally took it to the dealer for a factory head gasket warranty "repair". After the work I was told that the head gaskets in my truck were the good ones and didn't need to be recalled, but they wouldn't know this until they pulled the heads.

Well, it never ran as good after that, got poor mileage and didn't seem to have the spunk it had before the work. At 150, 000 miles, I decided to get rid of it and get a new Chevy Fullsize.

That little Toy was 15K new and I sold it for 7500 10 years later....not bad.

That 2001 Chevy had the 6.0. Lots of power, thirsty like a sailor, and knocked like a door to door salesman. Thought it was using a qt of oil between changes, found out the dealership was only putting 5 in it! Called for 6. Never did quit knocking at startup, dumped it off for my 01.5 Dodge. If I want to hear knocking, I'm doing it right this time!!

That's as good as the shop I had change the oil in my Chevy. Held 4 1/2 quarts, they were putting 5 1/2 in it. Even once I told them they were over-filling it.

Yeah those 6.0 chevys do knock pretty good at start up. My 03 6.0 chevy certainly does. It is starting to lope now till it gets a little warm, lol. Runs fine when warm though ....

When I crank it in the parking garage it sounds pretty cool, like it has a cam.. haha, but no matter how it sounds I know it is a pos that won't quit.
