Well the day has come to sell the CTD.
Well the day has come to sell the CTD.
Me and my Dad talked this morning about the truck,at this point it is getting harder and harder to pay for the truck it is 500 a month plus 200 for insurance and then 600-1000 for registration each year. We decided on they are going to take a mortgage(sp?) out on the house to pay off the truck and get a title in hand and pay off some other stuff, this will be cheaper in the long run. We are going to put the truck on Ebay since their is not realy a big market for duallie up here. We are going to put it up for $15,000-$16,000 on ebay, which is waht its worth or atleast what we think it is.
If we get 15,000-16,000 for it, we are putting 5,000 towards two older trucks for me and him,5,000 towards a nice sized concrete and roofing for a garage, and 5,000 towards the mortgage. I am hopefully going to buy a CTD once i get out of college and get established more. At this point i am looking for a 1973-1987 Chevy/GMC C/K 1500/2500,he is looking for an older Chevy/GMC 1 ton dump truck so he can still pull the skidsteer. If we didnot sell the truck we would of ended up taking out a bigger loan to build a garage,so i all works out any way.
Plus when i get out of college I can use the chevy for offroading/mudding/trail riding, or slam it to the ground.
Jeff..
Sure am gonna miss the beast, but its for the best.

$600-1000 for registration? That's insane. I pay $60 or $80 a year and that's it. Sorry you have to let the beast go. Just remember that just because you don't drive a cummins doesn't mean that you can't drop by here and say hi.
I plan to stick around this is a great forum, everybody treats everbody like family. I will have another truck by the time i get out of college in 2K9. Up here they go by the value of the truck,it is usaully 5% of what they think the truck is worth plus $220 for commercial plates.

put the thing in uncle henrys, you never know who will call you up. You never know what you will find in there, theres been a 94 CTD in there for a few weeks for 4500. That is too bad that you have to sell it but you have to do what u have to do.

Yea, We were thinking of putting it in Uncle Henrys too. That reminds me its Thursday need to go get the new one..lol. I was told today their is a 80% chance the truck is being sold and a slim 20% that we are going to keep it,depending on what the people come back with for the mortgage to pay off the truck to get the title. I always wanted a 1973-1987 body style chevy they looks nice lowered, but not to much. The thing up here is people sell stuff cheap cause they dont know realy know what they have, but when they want to buy something they make an exspensive offer. We have a 93 cavalier v6 RS Auto convertible w/ 120,000 miles on it my dad bought it 3 years ago for $1200 in Pa to resell it down there you might get 800-900,we have had offers up here asking if we would sell it for $2500-$3000 we don't want to sell it cause it is a good quick car to run the 20 miles into town to gets parts or sumthing real quick and its good on gas.
