website of common sense & intelligence and humanity.

i have to write a lesson for my youth group every week, so I always GOOGLE'ing and looking for fresh ideas that are eloquent, clear, and decisive.

some good stuff on here. kind of a "collective advise of the cognoscenti"

Bluegrass musician.

here's a list from Sagemeister's diary:
Complaining is silly. Either act or forget.
Thinking life will be better in the future is stupid. I have to live now.
Being not truthful works against me.
Helping other people helps me.
Organizing a charity group is surprisingly easy.
Everything I do always comes back to me.
Drugs feel great in the beginning and become a drag later on.
Over time I get used to everything and start taking if for granted.
Money does not make me happy.
Traveling alone is helpful for a new perspective on life.
Assuming is stifling.
Keeping a diary supports my personal development.
Trying to look good limits my life.
Worrying solves nothing.
Material luxuries are best enjoyed in small doses.
Having guts always works out for me.

12 to 18

but after 16, they get a car, and need a job to pay for gas,
so they get a job,
and they stop coming.

that's a huge age range to teach to, in real life

12~13 are watching cartoons

15~16 knows mom and dad aren't paying their bills on time, their friends are drinking and drugging, and some are pregnant.

that's why i try and GOOGLE so much, to get a get rounded opinion, instead of giving MY opinion. my narrow opinion is worthless, from what i can tell.

some of what is out there on the 'net is where someone poured their heart and soul out, it's eloquent and beautiful.
thats what i try to use.

you can PM me your email, and i can send you some of my lessons, or i can add you to the weekly list. i think JWBM and MadHat get them weekly.

most folks say they are too long.
4 typed pages is 45 minutes of teaching, and you need some extra in case...

i email the lessons out so the congregation can see what i am teaching the kids, and one mom used to query her kid on it, the kid retained a LOT more than you would think.

it's tough. pray for me. alot....
