We be back - - good to be home.

Wow, we are finally back home. Four days shy of four months on the road. The White Ghost performed with perfection while towing 16,000 pounds of fiver behind it. Some of the roads in Baja were something else to behold with 10% grades. They are barely 8' wide and I am 8'4" wide. Really fun when meeting trucks on a curve in the mountains. And they drive like idiots in Mexico. There is no such thing as a "safe" zone for passing down there. If you are in their way, they take off around you and worry about it later. If another vehicle is coming, they just pull over into you. Crazee.

We saw some awesome scenery and covered 13,050 miles. We averaged 12.9 mpg - - not bad for 24,000# total weight with a very high frontage area. The piggy back train ride thru the Copper Canyon was quite amazing. Then, ferry over to Baja, then straight up the coast to within a couple miles of the Canadian border hitting all the neat spots along the coast. Stayed a week in the Mt. Rainier/Mt. St. Helens area, a week in Yellowstone and the Tetons. Still nice to back home and get warm again - - hey, what am I saying - - it is hot down here in Florida. What possessed me to come in July and August?

I will post some pics as soon as I sort thru and select the best. Anyhow, HI.

Welcome back. Glad to hear that you had a great time and made it home in almost one piece. Going anywhere else soon? We don't want to hear any whining about all the clean up you now have to do on the truck and the fiver.

Hey Davey,
I like that - - Whidbb - - cute. We spent two weeks on Whidbey with a three day side trip up to San Juan. Neat country. My son has property on Whidbey - - our first time there - - gorgeous piece of property.

Don't hold your breath on that Chaikwa character - - he doesn't like my foo foo stuff.
