Gotta an EX named Rita....she was pretty destructive too....lost a house and a truck in that one..........
Hope everyone concerned has battened down and rigged for severe weather.
or gotten the heck out of dodge...
Fighting a head cold..cant breath worth a darn, been in bed the lst couple days and came back to work last night. Still hacking and gagging tho, maybe I can start my own little epidemic
Got everything unpacked and getting setled into the new place, gonna start on the barn as soon as I feel up to it, maybe next spring..
Cheifs are 2-0... wonder how long till they self destruct this year.....
Well, coffee and doughnuts... sugar pills for my ills....

Chris,
Eat a live toad first thing in the morning, and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day
Hope you get better soon
Yesterday my wife tells me her clutch pedal was feeling a bit odd, checked it and the clutch master cylinder was shot. Replaced that and was bleeding the air out of it when I decided to check the brake fluid level.
Empty
or as close to it as possible, brake line had sprung a leak and she had maybe 1 or 2 stops left before the brakes gave out
. I found the leaky brake line, of course it is behind the gas tank so I have to drop that before I can fix it today
Boy am I glad that clutch was acting up so that I found the brake issue before it became an accident. Sometimes you just get lucky...Now I will go drag my lucky self out to the garage and go 12 rounds with a full fuel tank in my face
Hopefully I will be able to siphon most of it out before I start.
You all have a safe day now! ....ya hear?

Back at it today. Finishing up a little wiring in the new well pit and I stumbled against the supply tank and snapped the PVC line. Got a wet pant leg and had to drag out the portable sump pump. Got it all patched up before dark and everything seemed to be holding. Noticed the pump kicked on a couple extra times this morning... sure enuff sprunk a little leak and have some more water sitting on the floor. Shut the pump off before I came in so it wouldn't be running all day if the leak got worse. Guess I'm going back to steel this weekend. I hate it when you waste most of a days work on something you already did. Back to my coffee.

A good evenin' to all. Rain here - - my lawn needs it. Getting the tail of Rita. Kept watching the TV pics of Key West and thinking of you, Pistol. Which is better? Freeze your tail or learn how to swim to your truck which is floating down the street? They got some pretty good flooding, but little damage. Sure doesn't look good for Texas. And YES, Pistol, we got home Saturday - - thanks for thinking of me.
Not sure I want to stay home - - - work, work, work. And hot, hot, hot. In a blooming snow storm one week ago and so hot now I get drenched washing the truck. Speaking of which, I got some of the dirt off today from 16,000 miles, but it has little tiny asphalt specs from the pointy end to the blunt end. Oh I hate what that means - - work, work, work. Scrubbed the pool cage and deck down. Found some sprinkler heads the mower guy did not keep open so they could not pop up - - result - - broken. No wonder I have dead spots in the grass.
Still nice to be home.

Nudder cool morning in DC, heading for the mid 80s this afternoon.
Beast in the lot, still waiting for one part for the G-G to show up in the mail.
Rita is looking like one for the record books.
Hope she either moves off to a less populated area, or diminishes greatly in intensity before landfall.
Y'all B safe,

Y'all B safe,
Well people we are getting darn close to being in the freezer up here! This morning the temp starts out at a cold 35*F in Idaho. I'm already burning wood in the stove and looking for another hot cup of tea. Still got a hell of a load of wood to split up and stack! Ugh...
Nice and hot cup of tea here... A big bowl of oatmeal with rasin and walnut sounds good this morning!
As for the truck I got to go out and look at my turbo a bit closer and see if the wastegate isn't sticking.
Also most time to put the GW away for the year... I really don't want to but I might if it starts freezing around here... Trust me you don't want to ride any kind of two wheel vehicle when there is ice out... Been there done that...
Well everyone have a good day!

You need a nice hot slab of COFFEE to git yer bones warmed up in the mornin'!Windy, rainy, thundery morning here in the flats of Michigan. I keep wondering when I'm gonna get used to all this 'flat'. So much for logging today I guess. I'd be skidding more mud than logs! Welding ain't much fun in the rain either. Guess I'll just sit here and stare out the winder.

cup is empty. Was gonna pick up my trailer tomorrow in Ennis Texas, on IH-45, between Dallas and Houston. Not gonna' happen now. Mass exodus from Houston towards Dallas on IH-45 North means I will wait.
Take it easy y'all,

Loooong day coming to an end. Had to run drug dogs through the command today (6 big buildings, multiple floors) ... luckily, no hot areas !!! Not a pleasant task ...
Talked to my Shipmates in Key West ... everything made it through Rita just fine and they are up and running today. I sure hope the thing slows enough to get everyone in the Gulf Coast area to safety.
Time for a pint, or two .... see ya'll in "der Morgan",
