Cool The Water Cooler Jan 1 - Jan 7 2006

Happy New Year folks.

NewYear, New Thread, same old title...........

Sipping coffee, waiting for some movement in the kitchen.
Wifey & Min-Pin both asleep.

40ish degrees under cloudy skies here.
Not too shabby for January in DC.

Y'all B safe,
Welcome to 2006,

well I am back from another battle with mo nature, she is not being too friendly, not a lot of snow but around here we are way too spoiled and any little bit means all out war. only worked a few hours but they were from 330 am till 9 am, this was after going in last night at 5 pm and working till9 or so........ suns up I am trying to be. Coffee? drank a whole pot while dealing witht he snow so I am perculated, but starting to think about brewin another. another year gone, learned a lot on this forum and plan on learning more, bombing is about where I can go without tearing into the tranny so I will sit in a holding pattern as long as I can. gonna have to limit bombing to finishing the stereo work and looks. "yall b safe & Happy New Year................

double post I know but phew I just dodged a bullet...... My big 36 inch rca tube tv has been acting a little weird, volume would be kinda low for what the setting was, then it would jump to normal, fluctuating irregulaly, but not often. Hours would o by and then pop, up or down it would go. This morning about 75 % of the channels had no audio, lots of static. Checked cable line w another tv, thats fine, uh oh....... hmmmmmm lots of input choices on the tv so I ran the cable to the vcr, and then rca outs to the tv. Bingo sound and audio on all chanels and the pic looks better than before. Of course I need to use two remotes now but hey, I don't have to buy a new tv for a while

Mornin fellas

40 degrees and so forth where yall are at? id say BRR!! Its january 1st, 11:35 a.m. and 75 degrees here in Laredo, texas, Yup, we even had 90 degrees at christmas time, so much for snow like last year, but we did BBQ and drink a few cold ones. Anyways, not much going on here, just sittin waitin for five more days for my employment announcement, as well as just pondering on a few issues. Later on, im going to see the horses, as its too warm to hunt right now anyways, and im just going to relax for a while or perhaps get together with a friend and go eat or something. Truck needs nothing, i tightened the bottom end screws last week, put in the 4K kit last week, fueled it up yesterday at 2.30 a gallon, and washed it on friday. Oh well. Anyways, hope all is well with everyone else..

Happy new year!

Check the internal grounds.
I had a 27 inch RCA that had that exact same problem.
Ran some new grounds, and it fixed it.
I then got a recall/class action notification saying that RCA had known about the problem for years, and I was entitled to the repair price plus $25 for my pain and suffering, as I fixed it myself I had no reciept, so no $$ for me.

Woo Hoo!! Another night at work and I'm the only one here. Found another nice heated (82*) maintenance bay open, so took advantage of it. Washed and waxed the 89 D350. She sure is purty for a gasser.

Guy I was doing some work for found out it is a dump and only 30,000 actual miles. He's trying to get it from me. Right now, don't think so, but we'll see what he offers.

Think I'll saddle up a horse or two when I get home in the morning for the first 2006 ride. Any bets they'll cooperate?

So is 11 feet and 3 remotes better than 27 inch and 2 remotes and 19 inch and one remote? Sure takes watching football to a whole new level...

Best of all, I paid less for it than I would have for a 36 inch

Happy New Year... Hope its a good one.

Who's the wise guy that sent all the rain to cali??
It has been in the 60's and 70's here for the last month in So Cal and now it's been raining for two days straight. I had planned to put my "Cummins Turbo Diesel" decal on the front of my truck this weekend. Guess that will have to wait now.

Tracked down a demo Infocus with 20 hours on the unit.... 1280x1024 max resolution fed by DirecTV HD - - Screen is drywall painted with screen paint..... looks awesome. Replaced a Sharp 480i projector that replaced a HarmonKardon 3 tube monster... I salvaged the HK from the trash, used it until it started to go south. Picked up the Sharp free because the S Video input needed to be re-soldered. The lamp went out in the Sharp, the unit was large and the resolution was poor, coupled with the fact that bulbs for old projectors are very spendy, I started looking for a DLP ceiling mount unit. Tracked the demo down and it works great. I am looking to build an enclosure to help with the cooling fan noise, but I use it mostly to watch football and nascar so the noise doesnt bother me too much. (also great for video games)

Rant off.
