Just saw something on Fox that made me think of chaikwa. He is always going on about chainsaws and machines to do with wood, but he has never built a decent chainsaw like this one. So Scott, I challenge you to beat this:

Wish they would have shown more of that right angle PTO. Wonder what a kickback would feel like on that thing.

Burning things tonight.

Stan- the guy can't lift the thing fast enough.
TG- couple states off. They've done a couple other songs. This one was just so bad there wasn't too much they could do with it. Funny video though.
Some kids up in North Dakota redid her "california girls" into "North Dakota Boys" and it was kinda funny too.

I've seen that before, and every time I see it I have to ask 'Why'? That right angle PTO is probably something like a bush hog gearbox. It would have to increase the engine RPM's in order for the chain to work without catching and binding in the wood. That's 3/4" Harvester chain and it takes a BIG bite.

It is Saturday, January 11th.

1805 - The Michigan Territory was created.

1815 - U.S. General Andrew Jackson achieved victory at the Battle of New Orleans. The War of 1812 had officially ended on December 24, 1814, with the signing of the Treaty of Ghent. The news of the signing had not reached British troops in time to prevent their attack on New Orleans.

1861 - Alabama seceded from the United States.

1878 - In New York, milk was delivered in glass bottles for the first time by Alexander Campbell.

1913 - The first sedan-type car was unveiled at the National Automobile Show in New York City. The car was manufactured by the Hudson Motor Company.

1922 - At Toronto General Hospital, Leonard Thompson became the first person to be successfully treated with insulin.

1935 - Amelia Earhart Putnam became the first woman to fly solo from Hawaii to California.

1942 - Japan declared war against the Netherlands. The same day, Japanese forces invaded the Dutch East Indies.

1964 - U.S. Surgeon General Luther Terry released a report that said that smoking cigarettes was a definite health hazard.

1988 - U.S. Vice President George Bush met with representatives of independent counsel Lawrence E. Walsh to answer questions about the Iran-Contra affair.

2000 - The merger between AOL and Time Warner was approved by the U.S. government with restrictions.

2000 - The U.S. Postal Service unveiled the second Vietnam Veterans Memorial commemorative stamp in a ceremony at The Wall.

2001 - The Texas Board of Criminal Justice released a review of the escape of the "Texas 7." It stated that prison staff missed critical opportunities to prevent the escape by ignoring a fire alarm, not reporting unsupervised inmates and not demanding proper identification from inmates.

2002 - Thomas Junta, 44, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for beating another man to death at their son's hockey practice. The incident occurred on July 5, 2000.

Today's thought:
A sin takes on a new and real terror when there seems a chance that it is going to be found out.

C0ffee & ph00 are ready. Get it before it evaporates.

TOB&F today please.

Cool video Stan, thanks for sharing it.

I noticed it is not equipped with a pto but with a 1-1 right angle direct drive. Notice the chain moving to the loping idle. Dangerous, I like it.

Good afternoon all y'all,
Glad to see you back JWBM. Things go a little sideways around here when you and Shorts don't keep us men folk in line.
Mother Nature just had a little hissy fit on Dalemead. There is a system pummeling the mountain parks and the prairies south of us but a squall just cam ethough here. When it hit it, it was 45F. The precipitation came as pouring rain - remember we have huge snow here right now. The temperature dropped and in about 5 mins it went to 30F and the rain turned to snow and ice pellets. Luckily, the whole thing only lasted about 20 mins or so, in the end, no biggie.
Play safe and have a good Saturday everyone.

Me too. It just 'got real', so to speak. We got the big house on-line with the wood boiler yesterday. I think I'm using a 1 yard bucket-full of wood about every 8 hours. And that's with the outside temps above freezing, around 40°.
Buried water lines to the house? How well are they insulated? Could taper off wood usage once the ground around them gets warmed up. We had to put tile lines in along the underground to my uncle and grandparent's house. The PVC they were in got water-logged and the ground never froze between the houses and wood shed that winter.

TALLGUY- bless you, bless you straight to hell! Every time I haven't had a radio on today, the original of that song you put up this morning starts through my head!!!!!

Howdy all. Been running today.

What I was burning was what may have been a borderline disorder.
All year long every bill and receipt gets pitched into a large paper grocery bag.
At tax time I organize all the papers into piles, throw away receipts that compare to CC statements and use the piles to finish my taxes.
What is left is folded up in the bag and stored for future reference in case I need it.
I have been doing it since 1977.
I had consolidated some of the stuff in the mid 80's but because I had the room,
I still had 24 bags each one partially filled with old bills, receipts and stuff in them.
Last night I took them all out in front of the garage along with a card table and chairs,
cranked the garage stereo up, opened up a box of wine (yes I said box, I am an uncultured brute) and burned all of them except for 2013.
It was 24°f, the sky cleared enough to see the Northern lights a little and with the fire I didn't need to wear a jacket.
I feel pretty good about it.

Hope everybody is doing well today.

Well all y'all,
The breakroom seems to have gone dark / quiet for another week. I guess it is time to put this one out of its misery. Seeing as Stan brought the dragon back to life, it is only right that I just gave it a big old bowl of dragon crunchies. They smell a bit like bbq'dd chihuahuas, but I can't be certain. In a couple of weeks the next Winter Olympics begin, my goal is for lots of good competition. I have played more than a few competitive sports and I was a softball umpire for 5 years and the thing that makes me happiest is a game intensely played and fairly won.
I have setup the coffee and pH00 for the morning. It would be most awesome if someone would make pancakes or waffles in the morning since I just put a jar of JWBM's maple syrup on the counter (minus one syrup shooter I had) for the whole crew.

So, the dragon is fed, the morning food is setup and the stove is full of Chaikwa's fresh cut hardwood. See all y'all on the flipside in the new and sanitary breakroom.
