vandals cut hole in trailer - how to fix?

on the side away from the house. stole 3 5 gal gas cans while back.

looks like someone took a tool of some sort, and tried to look inside, 6 inch long gash, went in an down, then in & up, tore up a chunk.

DUH, then they seen the wood on the inside.

idiots. the padlock on the back door is a dollar store special, would have been less work to pop that apart.

so where do I buy sheet aluminum to fix it with?

Any trailer dealers around you ?
Had mine broken into 2 months ago. They couldn't cut the lock with the bolt cutters so they used them to snap the handle. Unbelievable, never thought the cast handle would just bust like it did. They got $800 worth of larger tools, but left the smaller easier more expensive stuff. They won't be getting back in now though. Custom locking system, removable trailer tongue and jack, and (soon to come)alarm.

here's a pic, about the length of an ink pen.

yeah, there's a dealer near, will call him, see what says.

i got the DeWalt Metal cutting Radial Saw (the free tool with 6 pack) so I can cut it out easy enough.

Most truck and trailer parts houses have patches the are self sealing and come plain or white they can be stuck on or riveted on.....we used them alot on trailer roofs and sides that got rips or holes in them

I really liked that trick with leaving out a 5 gallon can filled with 4 gal. of water and 1 ga. of gas. Then look for dead vehicles around the neighborhood.

We used a mix of gas & diesel then we got smart and mixed used oil with gas.Real easy if the naighbors smokes real bad then you know who did it. The right mix will get the cops stopping it.
