Vacation and beer?

So I took off thursday and friday this week, planned on that. Woke up this morning and thought, "you know, I have two more days left". So I called work this morning and said, " hey, I have two more vacation days left and I think I'm gonna put them between labor day(yesterday) and thursday". I kinda got a..... , but oh well, they'll get over it.

So I worked cleaning the shop, organizing, fixed the barn, stuck my billy in the keester with some medicine to try and cure his pneumonia, pills did not work. Fed all the animals, watered, cleaned up the Neon I got for sale and finally stopped and thought, "hey, dag gone it! I'm on VACATION!!" I decided that I was gonna have a beer on my vacation(not a big drinker at all). So I came upstairs and said, "Woman, I'm on vacation and by God I'm gonna have a beer." She said, "Go ahead!". So I dug around in the fridge and found some Kirin beer(Japanese), popped the top and took a big swig. Kinda tasted weird? Or maybe it's just because the last beer(yes one or maybe two) was at the MSDTR 31 meet and greet a month ago. So I drank almost half and thought, wheres a date on this beer. I found the date and thought again.....hmmmmmmmm maybe since it said something about sell by 24JUN05?? I ended up pouring the rest down the drain. But, I just can't stop....I think I must have a fresh beer on this vacation. Go down in my clean shop, drink some beers, listen to some good country music and polish the parts I took off my truck...

Anyone else have a problem with beer going bad from sitting in the fridge to long? I've got something else in the freezer, but I want to be able to see straight while I'm polishing my parts... HELP!!! What do I do!!!

Yeah, beer doesn't keep around my house, and neither does the scotch.

my saying is "if you need a cuzy you ain't drinking fast enuf", but beer in the fridge that is out of date, geesh may be pushing it.

I brew my own beer and the longer it sits the better it gets, but have not let it sit long enuf to see it actually works.

I'm with jezzhuntin. I brew my own beer and it does get better with patience and aging and letting it condition is the keg. As for any other beer it just don't last long enough in my fridge to get to a date.

spekaing of drinking on vacation...

I am not much of a drinker, but when I do, I can drink most under the table because of body compostion. I don't understand the people that have to have a beer in their hand all the time. I guess they think it is cool. Personally, I only drink something if I am thristy, and that goes for beer to, except for beer pong, and other games....

Okay enough rambling...

I had me some Michelob Ultra and got the gf some Bud light this past weekend. I bootlegged it back from GA. Ga beer just tastes better, especialy since a case of bottles in GA sots the same as a case of cans in Bama. I will NOT drink beer from a can, it just taste nasty.

For the record, I have never been drunk, buzzin but not drunk, as seeing my brother as I grew up deterred me from that sort of thing.

I'm thinking if it was imported, it would have been pasteurized which would prevent it from ageing in a good way. If it was smuggled in, it may not be pasteurized and keep fermenting?

I can't even remember the last time I HAD beer in my fridge??? I don't drink much so I never buy it.......last time I did I think it sat in there for months before I finally poured it out because I needed the space in the fridge!!!

It usually does go bad if it sits for to long......even if it stays cold!! I've took a swig of a couple that had been in the fridge for a long time and about hurled.

Beer won't support bad bacteria so you don't have to worry there. Letting beer go out of date has never been a problem for me though.

Would someone please bootleg me some Coors Extra Gold over here! This stupid 3.2 beer state is killing me! I have to travel to Texas or Kansas to get my favorite....and that stinks! Not a fan of Longhorns or Jayhawks, but I'll drink their beer anytime!!
