US postal tip

US POSTAL TIP - IMPORTANT Payback is fun! WRITE IT ON THE BACK OF YOUR ENVELOPES or front WE THINK THIS IS A GREAT IDEA . WE'LL START WRITING IT ON THE FRONT OF OUR ENVELOPES, TOO!Including Bills

You may have heard in the news that a couple of Post Offices in Texas have been forced to take down small posters that say 'IN GOD WE TRUST,' The law, they say, is being violated . . Anyway, we heard proposed on a radio station show, that we should all write 'IN GOD WE TRUST Let's use it as our signature on e-mails, too! It's been reported that 86% of Americans believe in God . Therefore, we have a very hard time understanding why there's such a mess about having 'In God We Trust!' on our money, and having God in the pledge of Allegiance. Could it be that WE just need to take action and tell the 14% to 'sit down, and shut up!'? If you agree, pass this on !BUT REMEMBER IF YOU DELETE THIS, that's one reason why this world is in the mess we're in now ! WE SIT BACK & LET IT HAPPEN ! "IN GOD WE TRUST"

Just because you belong to a majority doesn't make you right. Why would you tell someone to sit down and shut up? They have as much right to say what they want as you. This is America.

I am not necessarily taking issue with your sentiment. I would like to address it however.

First, as a country and as shown in the Constitution, it is not a democracy or mob rule. We have an obligation to respect the minority and the rights thereof. Let that sink in and think about all it entails the next time Obama spouts "there was an election" with the veiled inference that because the majority elected him, he doesn't have to respect the wish of the other 49% that didn't vote for him. Think about how he and his ilk attempt to villianize the Tea Party for instance. What is he really doing? In your own words above "sit down and shut up".

What this is really about is not simply respecting the opinion or the right of expression of a small minority, it is that minority that is attempting to grossly disrespect not just an opinion or expression, but to deny them their very heritage, tradition if not way of life.

When we have had a public prayer, no one forces them to pray as well. They can play Angry Birds for all anyone cares. But they don't want that. They want to tell you that you cannot do that and then use an incorrect and convoluted interpretation of the Constitution to support their position.

So... folks like me get tired of being pushed around by folks like them and being told what I can or can't do (this is America, right?). We start to exercise our right to free expression (not telling them to shut up) by putting In God We Trust wherever I may.

without some form of beliefs, there are no rules for personal conduct. respect goes out the window if there aren't any rules. defensiveness and survival mode take over with suspicion.....yada, yada here we are today.

only here does the majority tell the rulers what to do. rulers seek the crevices for another option, money or extremists (or new York city) get on the soapbox; and now we have a new law, not the majority opinion. sheesh

despite Obama's actions and arrogance, I don't know of any soldier that is gonna pray to him when the explosions start.....

I do not tolerate being told what to do by anyone not paying me; working along side me; helping me.
religion is like underwear: personal choice, private wear, shown off and shared during the right time with the right people/person.

az3/4: voice your opinion for sure! pick on someone else for theirs? that is arguing just to argue. here, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies for you to cheer you up. no strings attached!

Seloozoo I among many are tired of having everyone else shove there way down my throat may kids can't pray in school people get offended with Merry Christmas wanting to take in God we trust off of everything ect all the while they want Sheria law wealth redistribution and not to be told Thier life style is against Gods laws, I'm not a bible thumper in any way but at some point we have to reliZe that God made this country great and he has had enough of our stupidity and flaunting our blantent disregard of his wishes in his face.

I think we need to let people have there own beliefs and of you don't like them don't go running to court to claim something that isn't there.

If I have stepped on anyone's toes get over it or put on steel toed shoes

From Railroader:

Soulezoo,
I, among many, are tired of having everyone else shove their way down my throat!! Many kids can't pray in school!! People get offended with Merry Christmas! Wanting to take, ".. in God we trust!" off of everything, ect., all the while, they want Sharia law, wealth, re-distribution, and not to be told that their life style is against God's laws!

I'm not a bible thumper in any way; but at some point, we have to realize that God made this country great and he has had enough of our stupidity, flaunting and our blatant disregard of his wishes, in his face.

I think we need to let people have their own beliefs and if you don't like them, don't go running to Court to claim something that isn't there.

First I take offense to someone telling me to sit down and shut up. If you are too ignorant to listen to someone's point of view then that's your own problem. I would never try to lecture someone on my thoughts who doesn't want to hear them. I would like to be treated the same. Our nation was founded on the right to beleive in our own opinion. The first Americans came here because they were told to sit down and shut up. Think about it. If people want to go and pray they can have at it. Just don't try to force it on others. Also I hope you all have a very merry Christmas.

I am trying to understand how some religeous people can come to this country, make places of worship, preach on destroying the evil West, and have it all sanctioned as free speech.

If you go to their country and show a Bible in public, you won't keep your head. (literally)
