Unprecedented Alien Attack!

In the darkest hours of the night some malevolent entities attacked the land with a gruesome chemical weapon. Crystalline Dihydrogenmonoxyde. As a powerful friction modifier it aims at bringing transport to a standstill. Psychologically it diverts attention from the tasks at hand by changing the optical characteristics of the environment.

All those not prepared for this kind of attack are now desparately seeking help in professional centers that disperse black round objects to mount on the cars of the suffering. Heroic efforts of the winter clothing salesmen and -women ensue.

This kind of attack hits the population without any warning, it was in no way foreseeable, and it has never ever been that bad and at this time.
People who already had these black objects for this kind of attack had been dubbed "alarmists" at least.

(OK, it just snowed a lousy half inch but on the streets it's like there's never been anything like that before...

Geeez Alpine.... I though we were being attacked or something. It snowed in the Alps? Now there is news!

Crystalline Dihydrogenmonoxyde. Sounds like a food preservative. I'm sure I've read it on a box of Twinkies.

Alpine, you want to sit in here and work the phones when that happens? Getting some up to the house right now too.

I guess it's time to start packing the DPICM rounds with Crystalline Dihydrogenmonoxyde for fiverbob. ANybody got some lense paper for the bino's?

Doggone it Alpine .... couldn't you keep that stuff down there where it belongs ??
I got off the bus a little while ago ... nothing.
Walked 200 feet to the train station .... tiny flakes started tickling my nose. 2 minutes later ..... horizontal snowballs !!!

Back down to tiny flakes for the 3 minute walk home, nice, cozy warm home !!

never is along time and considering there is geological evidence suggesting the earth was once a snow ball, our poles shift magnetic fields every tens of thousands of years, the earth is on a wobbling orbit, the moon is slowing us down and the core is cooling off and the sun is in its midlife, not to mention the man made things such as nuclear winter ozone depletion.... i bet guam will see snow one day! wether were still around to see it is a mostlikely no. ( i hope not...)
