Somebody here says that they take sandpaper to "mill" down the head so it increases compression and add hp. They did it to a weed wacker?

I know EXACTLY what you mean, I`m trying to nurse mine thru the rest of this season, altho I did find 2 things wrong with it that contributed to it`s poor performance. It had a plugged screen in the fuel line, AND the carb to eng gasket was torn. It finally runs ok but still has poor power wich is probably due to the actual blower design. Back in the day we used Echo`s Landscaping, very reliable and powerfull, hopefully next summer will find one in my shed.

5.9,try www.blendzall.com/ now understand,I'v not used the "new"stuff,but.."in the old days" I would run a 100cc 2-stroke on alky at 14,600 rpm, dyno 24hp,and flow 6 gal of fuel in one hour in the kart with this stuff.Of course then I did not wear tri-focals and weighed 40 lbs.less

Well

I couldnt handle the Homelite anymore. I thought about taking it apart and trying to mod it but just shelled out an extra $160 for the top end handheld Stihl, which is MUCH more powerful. What took about 4 hours with the Homelite I would say will take under 2 with the Stihl.

I hear ya on the homelite. Mine died this past weekend while TRYING to clean my yard of leaves. Started knocking REAL loud and lost alot of rpm`s, I`m figuring the con-rod is going south. I gave in and picked up a 4 cycle Craftsman blower/vac (it was on sale). It works LOADS better than the homelite (heck, it actually runs).
