TWA flight 800
Do some of you remember when TWA fight 800 went down?. This "accident" has never been understood and the true cause never discovered although there there have been lots of theories, most of them blaming the government for a coverup. Here is the latest story, what are your opinions on this aircraft going down?

Yup, I've never seen a fire work travel that fast. Unless it was an un-used 40mm live round. It's amazing to think that was 10 years ago, seems like only half of that, I mean 9/11 was 5. Man I'm getting old.
I have no objections to be suspicious of the government, but come on, dont you think our government has better thing to lie about than this?
Lets assume the CIA did shoot the plane down. Why?
The most obvious reason is an elaborate assissantion. Why do it insite of land?
There is no logical reason to shoot down a plane in site of millions of people when you could just as easily do it with a jet over the middle of the ocean call it mechanical failure and recover nothing and have no debris wash up to contradict the statements.

From the 'official reports' the explosion came from the the center point fuel tanks. The center tanks wasn't fueled for the flight so either chaffed wiring or a one of the probes cause the spark that ignited the vapors in the tank. The military banned mylar shielded wiring on aircraft years ago because of chaffing issues.
A heat seeking missile would have gone for one of the engines.

Maybe it was some Homer Simpson who accidently pushed the "Missile Launch" button...
Even if that happened, however, I don't see why they'd lie. Knowing the military, if somebody screws up all you have to do is find a scapegoat. If you have rank, it isn't too difficult, is it?

Like, who shot Kennedy? Why?
It's interesting anyway.

There isn't a wothwile event out there that someone has not tried to explain in a "diferent" way. Hey there have been a few occasions where the alternate explanation has proven to be the correct one. I personnaly can imagine that people are capable of most things, but I do not believe that they realize most of those capabilities, most of the time. What I like about the "alternate" views is the challenge to rationalize things diferently, like spining around a chess board but with new figures all the time. As for the truth? Who knows what the truth is? More importantly what can YOU do about it?
crazy thing is I was out deep sea fishing on that date, and remember a flash then a boom......... bout 35 of us on the boat looked at each other, grabbed another cold one, and continued to fish, only to find out what had happened when we got back to shore and heard it ont he radio.

It wasn't. Unfortunately, they didn't have the ability to search the wreck when she sank then.

I mean, of course the Spanish blew up the Maine or else we wouldn't have gained control of Iraq, err, I mean the Phillipines.
