So sleepy. Up late trying to track a crook. Things got frothing again today. Connected some dots. Came up with new questions.
JWB, sorry you have to say goodbye to your bike
Get some good pics before it goes.

The wife quit her job to stay home with the kids so that opened up my off-duty time to fix everything that had been put off for the last few years. (1 armed carpentry isn't my strong suit.....
)Got skunked Moose hunting at the end of September. Too much wind. Spent half of my hunt holed up in a wall tent with 65mph winds trying to make the camp fly away. Went on a winter antlerless hunt a few weekends ago and no luck there either. Freezer is getting empty but I have another chance or 2 for a moose before I have to switch to a caribou attempt in December.
10yo lab blew out her OTHER acl in early Oct...... Just had that repaired last week. She's the most expensive dog I've ever had but she's bee family longer than my wife or kids so she's worth it. Doc says shes in great health especially for her age.
11yo kid has been playing basketball for the last few months for the first time. 2 games + practice every week. Lots of fun there. Girls B-ball is BRUTAL! They seem to have rougher games than the ones I see in the gym here at work!
8yo has been playing indoor soccer too. She's having fun and learning a lot form the indoor league. Of course the games/practice are conflicting with the 11yo so I'm in 20 places at once and always playing catch-up somewhere.
The littlest one is about to turn 18 months and is a little demon! She believes that the world revolves around her and if you don't respect her authority, you'll get an earful.......
She is awesome though!
All in all, Life is good just busier and busier with every passing minute.
J_Martin, good call on the pro-biotics. As suggested here and approved by vet, he is starting to get small amount of steamed white rice and unseasoned, cooked ground beef. He has had a bit of a weak stomach for a few years so the vet has had him on yogurt and probiotics for breakfast for at least 18 months. It really helps him out. We found out a few weeks ago that he does not like cherry yogurt (picky dog).
Clostridium difficile (C-diff) is probably the chief culprit. S. boulardii is specifically antagonistic to it, and also produces antitoxins that counter the 2 serious toxins that C-diff produces.
In my experience.
Antibiotics......rebound
Yogurt ..........no effect
Yogurt and pro biotics from drug store....... no effect
Lifeway Kefir (early in one of the above said rebounds) ...... almost cured
Kefir + S. bourlardii ...... complete cure.
There's about 1000 organisms possible in the gut of a mammal, most of them beneficial. The culture list of kefir reads like ten of the top 15 that occur. Again, key one missing is S. boulardii.
Dr. Johan Bakken at St. Lukes (Duluth) treats patients with C. diff so bad they are in danger of losing their colon. This is most of his first crack at it, and is way over 90% successful. (8 test cases, basket cases all, in an early research project went 100%) Antibiotics alone is 50% or less. (common knowledge)
hope it helps
Not even 5 minutes to come visit your DTR family to let us know you're ok? I'm hurt.

The Doc just told FiverB the same thing, and lookit how old HE is! If that's any indicator, she'll outlive you!
Morning all.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9th:

1938 - **** troops and sympathizers destroyed and looted 7,500 Jewish businesses, burned 267 synagogues, killed 91 Jews, and rounded up over 25,000 Jewish men in an event that became known as Kristallnacht or "Night of Broken Glass."
1961 - Major Robert White flew an X-15 rocket plane at a world record speed of 4,093 mph.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Retired is being twice tired, I've thought. First tired of working, Then tired of not.
Coffee and ph00 is ready. The 'stuff' on the donuts is NOT to be scraped off. It's what's holding the donuts together!
probably from vancouver, lol kidding. lots of migrating street people from portland\seattle area there in bellingham. big port terminals....
goodness JMartin!! you are one smart SOB! chaikwa and business partner, Redleg (Don, missing member from DTR), Claude, sure are smart in MIchigan!!! well the west side of MI I should say. wow. food and spirits to you all!
Good to hear from ya AlaskaMarc!! sorry to hear about the barren hunting, not a good feeling. tired but better feeling to do the parent shuffle dance! sniff those days fly! I will send you anything ya want from the states! my retired hubby is bored, let's start with him....with tools.
FiverBob, hang in there, still do pool stuff or too cold now? water work that ankle, I'm sending Michael Phelps to do up a workout for ya...
PT this AM, a doctor appeared, hospital surgeon. said he could fix me. I asked who gave him my medical file? he walked away. I was done with PT anyways, therapist and I just stared after this quack. appearantly this is Obamacare: any hospital doctor (specialist) can review patients that don't respond to conventional care. Instead of morning rounds, now it is like a cookie jar. just take an electronical look at patients in that category from insurance/hospital code and instead of a medical discussion among professionals, they can now seek out patients to dabble in seat of the pants medical treatments. like telescammers but for thousands of dollars. I had BETTER not get a bill from this.....
have to teach hubby a therapy move for my foot, funny it brings back a memory of wrestling fights on the ol B & W tvs....

I insisted that I owned the film, and took it back to the chiropractor, who by the way is now doing very well in sports medicine. He also read it, and said if I can stand the pain, we can probably get most of it back.
One of the problems is that the capsule had frozen, and had to be systematically torn loose, a very painful experience. It had to be done several times a day for a month or so to get the motion back. He taught my wife how to do it at home.
Watching the expression on the face of Mrs. Mercy as she had to systematically hurt me was all the anesthetic I needed. It was hillarious.
Shorts - you are just mean. We have had 48 hours of snow. The trip to work today was a 4wd adventure and trip home was no better except there was at least daylight on the way home. Tomorrow will be the first time I have fired up the snowplow truck since 2010! I finally getbtonsee if the tire chains I put on last autumn make much of a difference for traction in the snow. Temps are going down to -4F tonight with strong wind. It isn't snowmageddon or anything like that and the Alaska folks get worse in August but it is only Nov 9 and I am not impressed. This is going to be a long winter....

Howdy y'all.
Feeling crummy tonight. Still. I hate colds!

Just got word that Sawmill and Woodlot Management Magazine wants to do a feature article on my Log to Lumber Program that I do with the high school shop students. That oughta be pretty neat!

That is why I accidentally called Shorts a democrat the other night.
