Troopers pulled me over today!!
Going to work today a couple WV State Troopers pulled me over, nothing new to me. Well, the first officer walks up and says, this thing got a lift? I say No! The other officer asked me for all the paper stuff and asked me to step out the truck. Ok-- he points out the block in under the leaf springs and says ( What do you think that is?) I say its a factory leaf block and he says there is no such thing and of course I disagree for 10 min. on the side of the road and he tries to point out the dark tint and I again say that is factory too.
He then states that (while I'm arguing my point and innocence) that he was going to give me a warning for a improper vehicle inspection sticker but he said that I was talking my way into a ticket.( cause in this state you need a Modified sticker for a modified suspension, which I dont have) (Typical EDIT). I said whatever, and asked him to at least call a dodge dealer and ask.( since he obviously didn't know what he was talking about)
So I got off work and called the local dealer to confirm the info. that I already knew and the guy said it sure does and pulled it up on the computer.
I then call the SP office and ask for the trooper and he was there and informed him of the info and he just says ok, ok. thats it.
My point --- I would'nt mind being pulled over for something legit, but not for nothing but a waste of everybody's time and for something both officers had no clue what they were talking about and were even going to ticket me for. I guess that is the most important thing they had to do.
I feel for the poor sole who doesn't know any different.
I guess that is the PUBLIC SERVICE I GET!

The state police in Ok are pretty cool guys, but the small town cops are pieces of crap. They sit and wait at all hrs of the day, just looking to bust somebody. I was pulled over one night heading home, 1 mile from my house, it was 11:45 pm and I was pulled over for dueing 38 in a 35. All he was looking to do was excert some of his.........so called authority. Of course after the 6 times he ask me if I had been drinking he let me go......I guess he figured it would be a good night to get somemore revenue for the town.....
S.D seat belt violation=$237.00
Don't feel too bad. A co-worker of mine just got nabbed for "no seatbelt",basically a victimless crime. Here in San Diego that equals:are you ready?...$237.00! Tell me they're not tryin' to boost revenue!
Victimless??? Still victimless if he is ejected from his vehicle during an accident and lands on a poor old lady who's crossing the street (minding her own business) and kills her? Hmmmmm...I think not. But $237.00??? I know how to beat that: WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!

In most cases, wearing safety equipment while operating a motorcycle can save lives. It can also keep insurance down for everyone else.
i got pulled over last year by the local sherrif for no brake lights. he had been following me around town and had not seen the lights come on the whole time. It took me a few minutes to explain to him about the exhaust brake. sometimes they are cool, sometimes just uninformed. we just have to use discretion on how we help them understand. it is in our best interest to cooperate. while on the side of the road, we are subject to their mercy. we will never win an arguement on the side of the road.
