Very sorry to hear about your accident, although, with the cause of the incident being drunk, I guess it really wasn't an accident. I am glad that you and your youngster are all right, that's most important.

Where in Michigan are you located?

I am glad to hear that you are all ok. I lost my 03 2500 Hemi a couple of weeks ago. A cop pulled out in front of me and I T-boned him. He never saw me. Stupid cop. You will be sore for a while but that doesn't compare to the loss of the truck that you loved so much. After a couple of weeks when you get your insurance check and you get a new 05 you will start to forget about all that and life will seem a litttle better. Again I am glad you and family is doing all right and I can relate.
Take care! Usta

Very sorry to hear about your collision. (accident would indicate that the events were inevitable and out of anyone's control)
Obviously NOT the case here.

Very glad to hear you and your son are OK.
Simon & Garfinkle sang "I'd rather be a Hammer than a Nail"....seems appropriate.

Insurance will hopefully step up and get you back on the road in a new vehicle.
If your truck was hit hard enough to bend it in half, I'd suggest you both get checked out by a doctor in the morning.

Keep us advised.

Sorry to hear about the collision.Glad you and your son are OK. The drunk that hit you will probably be real sorry in a few months too. We have a top Judge just got busted for DUI and open intoxicants when he rolled a state SUV a few weeks ago. He was asked to step down until the hearings were over. He just got sentensed yesterday to 90 days in jail with 88 of those days suspended, 364 days of unsupervised probation, fined $100. for careless driving, $25. for open intoxicants. But the worst penalty he faced was the state supreme court gave him a 90 day suspension with pay!!!!! WOW!!! Did they ever throw the book at him!!!! Oh yeah, he admitted to consuming 3 oz of vodka, but blew a .18. the limit here is .08. I am totally disgusted by the outcome of that case!!!! Talk about profesional privelages!!!!

Illinois just changed the terms from an accident to a traffic crash. The wording was changed, because of the belief that accidents are that "accidental," and in a traffic crash somebody goofed up and it was preventable.
Illinois is starting taking statistics on distractions including cell phone usage as a cause to the traffic crash.

Well, it could have been worse...

You could have T-Boned a cop. Or a judge...

At least it isn't potentially your fault.

Glad you and the boy are ok. That was no accident, she purposely consumed alchol and drove. I hate law suits, but I hat drunk drivers more. Lost a good friend this past summer, leaving behind a 12 year old son. Sue them!

Sorry to hear about your incident. Glad everyone is alright.

I wonder when society will recognize that drinking and driving is a MAJOR problem. I know I'm a bit biased as I do not drink or smoke, but I have absolute ZERO tolerance for people who drink and drive. I think they should take their driving PRIVILEGE away, none of this suspended license crud, take it away. Probably the most important thing I remember from drivers education, which I took when I was 14 in Idaho, was that driving is a PRIVILEGE, not a RIGHT.

Just wanted to throw my .02 in here, this is ridiculous that a man and son could have very easily been killed here, for someone else's stupidity. Thank GOD you were in the vehicle you were in and not something smaller or the situation could/would have been much worse.

Glad you're OK.

Sorry for your misfortune, glad no one was hurt for sure.
I aint naming names, but someone very close to me had an accident backing out of her driveway at full speed. A pickup truck must have been left in her way. She didn't stop. shoot, I don't think she even even slowed down.

She must have been MOVIN ON to total a 3/4 ton in a neon!... Of course she probably went right under it and hit the frame directly. Glad you guys are okay, she's really lucky to be alive after that <edit> move!
