Re:Tornadoes

I live on top of a mountain in WV and I had to unplug all the non essentials last night because of the high lightning strike count. A regular strobe light effect here coupled with high winds. I can't imagine how bad it was in those areas that got hit HARD!

Re:Tornadoes

Connected with the fire and police here in Branchville I knew that the storms were coming. The first actual news on them was the report that one of my main customers had his used car lot hit bad in Carbon Hill, Alabama. Bad distruction there and some deaths. The storm continued north east and went through his town where he lives, Navuoo, doing great damage. I have not been able to contact him yet as the phones and power have been out. When they got here we feared the worst and were under warnings several times with the main tornado going over without touching down. A few trees down some power lost, minor damage. Once again we were very lucky. In the past there have been quite a few that damaged this area, but not this time.

Re:Tornadoes

I live about 15 miles from VanWert, Oh. We were lucky here, but VanWert got hammered. I drove over there after work that day, and it was terrible. No-one I knew was hurt, but the property damage alone was devestating. I feel for all the people that were'nt as fortunate...CC.

Re:Tornadoes

I've never seen a tornado, a couple of minor one came through a few years back and ruined a pig farmer. There were pigs everywhere, the trees, the front porch, out in the river. Saw a couple of water spouts in the South Pacific though.
