Tony Stewart Runs Over and Kills Another Sprint Car Driver
Last night, NASCAR Driver Tony Stewart ran over and killed another sprint car driver at a race track in New York. Apparently they had been bumping each other for a good part of the race. The deceased driver was spun out, exited his sprint car and was trying to confront Stewart when Stewart hit him and ran him over! You can bet there will be a lawsuit on this incident. What a shame
for that deceased drive and his family.
Here is the video link to the incident:

This is not the first time for Stewart to cause carnage at a race track. Sad that someone died this time because of him.

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
These winged sprint drivers really drive by sound and feel. They have a very narrow field of view with the wing, head side support in the seat, the neck restraint, and tight harnesses. If Tony saw the kid it was probably too late no matter what Tony tried to do to avoid him.
I watched the vid many times and pausing it to see if there was contact between the two to cause the kid to crash, and I don't see ANY so Tony more than likely had no idea the kid was even mad at him when he came back around under yellow!! And not to mention the kid was almost hit by the car in front of Tony as well.

You saw the first car turn down the track and the kid run back up. Don't know if he expected Tony to stop or what, he didn't try getting out of the way til it was too late. It did look like Tony may have been trying to turn down the track, and running him over turned him back up. As sad as it is, I think it's one of them racing deals. Hot-headed kid yelling at the hot-headed old man.

I don't think Tony S. did it on purpose by any means. The video only shows a small view of what happened. All you really see is a young man making a bad decision and it cost him his life. Very sad.

Man, from the looks of it, Tony never knew the guy was back there, it is quite clear they never touched during the wreck ( not saying they weren't touching before ), and by that video, Tony didn't gun the car until the kid was mid car, to me it looked like Tony tried to cut right a bit, tap the throttle to try and kick the rear around to give more room.
No matter what, this one is a bad deal..........
I can say this, I worked track crew at Winchester for many years, and never met a driver who realized just how fast they were running even under a yellow.

If Kevin would have stayed in his car and waited for the emergency vehicles arrival (30 seconds after he stopped moving) he would probably still be alive and could have shared the vid with the officials for any wrong doing. He is in a dark colored suit on a dark fast moving track looking like he wants an altercation. Look at the vid from :28 on, his dark suit blends right into the background. Car 45 may have made contact with him as well prior to Tony's car # 14. It is a bad situation for all involved.

Who gets out of their car during a race and stands in the track trying to start a fight?!!!
This sounds and looked like suicide...
Bad decision cost him his life.

Good points by everyone here.
I still can't understand WHY these drivers on short tracks get out of their race cars like that! They do it on the paved tracks that NASCAR has too.
Like Colo said, if Kevin HAD stayed in his race car he would be alive today and he could have still confronted or jumped Tony Stewart in the pits later.

I grew up on a dirt track and being a HOT HEAD is all part of the racing persona...competitive people have as a rule short tempers and you see them flair all the time on a track......
Tony has a history of proclaiming he would run someone down if they make him mad and having worked the track on the outlaw sprinter series, it sure looked to me like he intentionally tried to break the rear end loose and and slide it right to knock the kid off his feet....I don't think he intended to kill him but as stated here already, they loose track of how fast they are really going even under a caution flag.
This is all just MY opinion from the short video with a very bad angle and if I were on a Jury I could not find him guilty of anything from just watching that....just a gut feeling from what I saw and I COULD be wrong.

four videos so far and the sheriff's office is dealing with an immense amount of pressure from NASCAR. and the politicos....
my son lives there, was working when the news came in. from the observers
texting, stewart swung his right rear end out and tapped the sprint car into the rail. he was being taken 'to the cleaners' by kevin and had displayed tactics of ruining the kid's race instead of racing for a win.
first car saw and dodged him, second car missed him and driver said he did not see him. track opinion was the right rear tire caught him as stewart tried to 'spray him' with muddy track; not hurt him.
stewart was spirited away, private plane out that night. lawyers/damage control in full effect.
sheriff office still doing measuring but news media is hands off on stewart or any charges, DAs office says they will only look a t anything brought by sheriffs final results. again lots of political/power players getting involved.
I don't see any charges for stewart, they will blame track conditions if anything. bottom line: stay in the **** car, faster red flag when he was running round on track..... feel so bad for the guy's family. neighbor watched the kid grow up, can't stand to be at her home, no one is working on race cars across the road... news is promising some sort of insight..

Bottom line is play with the big boys be prepared to die! He tried to show him who is king of the track to this rookie and killed him instead. Not intensional I'm sure but he tried to spray him with mud to show this rookie dont mess with the big dog. Sad the kid died but only Tony Steward knows the real reason this kid died but he will never tell you nor me.
