Question Tokheim hand pump

I am trying to fix up a barrell (< spelling?) to keep tractor fuel in (diesel). I was given 4 empty oil barrells from work. A friend gave me a Tokheim hand pump. I stuck it in a bucket that had some oil out of my truck, and it seemed to pump ok. It did have a little water seep out of the pump though. I only use maybe 50 gal a year, but I can buy it at the bulk plant non taxed ( for tractor only). The pump might be pretty old, but it has ser. #s and the tag is very readable. Does anyone know anything about these pumps, and what would be a good way to clean an oil barrell to put fuel in it? I did a search, but could'nt find anything on THIS pump. Thanks!

Exxon NUTO H 68, what ever that is. I put a gallon or so of diesel in the barrell and rolled it around the yard for a while. Screwed the pump in to pump some out, and the pump seem to pump ok. Pumps on both strokes. I need to put a new hose on it and may try to put a filter on it. Do you see any problem with this setup? By the way I did dump out remainder of oil/diesel. The best part > all free so far!

A 10 micron filter isnt a bad idea, its going to slow down your pumping rate tho.

Thats ok if it slows it down. My JD 4410 (35 hp) only holds 10 gallons. And I usually only have to fill it up once or twice a month. Im just tired of paying road tax when its going in a tractor! Do you think I need to add any kind of stablizer? Thanks for your help.
