Tires

I am probably in the wrong area to post this. However, it is a busy area and perhaps I can get some input.

I am looking at switching to a set of 6 of these...

Bridgestone Duravis M700 HD 235/80R17's.

Anybody run these or have experience with them?

I kinda figure we could just cut a couple of holes in the floor boards and he could use LEGG power...

I have a friend that has those tires on his (cough) Duramax. Really likes them. Holds up well to the rock/gravel roads out in West Texas.

Wow, one in five posts that actually had something to do with the original topic! And I had nothing to do with it!

I fully expected the replies I got. I was hoping for a 20% rational reply ratio. I think I got pretty close.

what tires do you currently have, and why do you want to switch? What kind of characteristics do you need in a tire? Of those characteristics which is most important?

I have used General Ameritracs for awhile now. Tread is similar to the Durvais 700 but the Ameritracs display some squishy characteristics when towing.
The Durvais is a commercial tire with steel belts.
I will stay with the stock size 235/80R17 on the truck.
For the walker I will be using a low pro lawntractor tire, 3 cyl Kubota engine and blades out the front to see how fast my older twin can run. Games just like the old days at home.

He already had to install the heavy duty suspension so they might work.

Ive got 60K on my Hercules terra-tracks.
My boss got 90K on his michelins that come on his 2500 Hemi truck.
My only experience with bridgestones are with duellers and they lasted a total of about 40K miles on my trooper and one came apart. the other three were worn enough that needed changed anyway.

Just remember, criticism by annoying people is a sure sign you're doing something right. (The original quote is a little more earthy but I prefer to stay family friendly.)
