Threaded Fittings Question
I have been looking at fuel-line fittings and adapters.
I know what N.P.T. is; but, I am also seeing M.P.T. and F.P.T.
What are M.P.T. and F.P.T. ??

I was trying to find an adaptor for my compressor the other day and was puzzled by MIP and FIP. I'm guessing I now know what that M and F are for, but what about the IP?? Love this site, so informational, yet anonymous enough that I don't feel like
If the threads are on the interior, the fitting is female. If the threads are on the exterior, the fitting is male.
IPS means Iron Pipe Size, and also refers to threaded pipe.
MIP means Male Iron Pipe size. It refers to a male threading that will fit an IPS pipe.
FIP means Female Iron Pipe size. It refers to a female threading that will fit an IPS pipe.
