My new little project car. 91 240sx hatch with sr20det motor, pushing 250whp weighing in at 2,400lb with driver. That's me smoking the tires (i spooled the rear end) past the 1\8th mile.
**** right. Right now there is NOTHING inside the car except the pedals, and steering wheel. I've pulled all the sound deadening material, fiberglass\rubber matt on the firewall, and LOTS of extra wires that aren't neccessary. All the a\c components including heater core were removed. I hope she'll weigh in a bit under 2,300 w\o driver. Lots of extra brackets (including 2 15lb brackets on the engine used for a\c and powersteering) were removed, lots of stuff pulled out
The rear end is out waiting to go to the shop tommorow so I can weld 'er up (just like my last 240, spooled rear ends are fun) and get 'er back in to the car tommorow. I redid the i\c piping and brackets today, 3" all the way through. From previous experience on other 240's, spooling the rear end and pulling carpet \ sound deadening means a whole 1 second drop in the 1\4. If that holds true for this beast, she'll be running a low 13 on 7psi of boost (stock is 11!). So there will be alot of fun on Sunday, as my manual boost controller came in today. I'll make a baseline run with the weight loss \ spooled rear end, then crank the boost to 11psi and have some fun. I figure mid 12's are very atainable Sunday night. I'll post vids \ pictures of the build up (or down) tommorow, as well as any dynosheets on 7psi and 11-12psi.
