Ya know what's really bad? I live in college station yet I have more posts than the entire city put together. Maybe that was obvious to some but it just popped into my head.

well, I lived in Alpine for 4 and a half years, and I went to Sul Ross State, and graduated from it. I highly doubt that there is a country song out there that has 'Alpine Texas' in its lyrics, but thats just me. I would definately love to hear it/dowload it. On the same note, Gary P. Nunn has a few songs that were written about Terlingua, as in 'Terlingua Sky' and others.

hope this helps

For a year but I didn't post much. It was back in my rookie days. I actually used to post less back when I didn't live here cause I had a life and no free time.

WUnderwood- Well the song does exist I just have to find it and get it out there.

Seems this thread has gone another direction and most people havnt heard it anyhow, I will have to do some deeper digging. Thanks.

Take a look at this month's Texas Highways magazine. It has an article about all the songs written about or including the names of Texas towns. I'm at the office and don't have access to it right now, but IIRC there were a couple of songs that mentioned Alpine.

By the way, Jack, Spring is a suburb of Houston, as is Cypress (my location).

I'll have to cry 'calf rope' on this one. I can't find your song. Sorry, I gave it the old "college try". Good luck.

Yeah, I saw your post, I was responding to #25, he seemed to be asking TXwelder who sang it. I am not always so easy to follow

I am anxiously awaiting your findings!

Well I swear I wasnt dreamin'. I WILL FIND IT! I bet my budy still has the CD but it is a burnt copy so nothing gives there. Maybe if I get the song I can post it someplace and let people listen. I will do that when I find it, one way or another.
