This photo is taken from the dark side of Saturn as it eclipses the Sun. The rings are striking in this photo and even the small earth can be seen to the left of Saturn.

Reading the caption, this photo helped them discover more rings that they did not know existed around saturn.

I love astronomy too TOP. took several courses in college. see some amazing meteor showers and awesome views of the milky way out here in the sticks. cool pic

 

That is awesome, especially seeing little earth near the rings.

 

Wow. It almost doesn't look like a real picture it's so bright and vivid.

 

In the deep vacumn of space, colors and contrasts are extremely vivid. I can only imagine how strikingly beautiful it would be to see these things first hand.

that's funny, that's what i did too, makes a cool desktop wallpaper. cool pic top, do you go there often, it said that there's a new one daily, (i think), i'm probably gonna have to check it out regurlarly too.

Oh I understand. That's what amazes me. It's just so unreal that it is actually real and not some made up drawing. I just can't get over it.

 

Yes sir I have been going there daily for a couple years now...I never tire of those tremendous photos.
