nope, they really load their bikes like that.

China doesn't use forklifts, they will just add more people to carry the loads around. Its cheaper.

These aren't Unimogs- these trucks were built by Mercedes for Algeria and Lybia, some of them in plants in Northern Africa.
They do have straight axles (3) instead of the portal axles of the Unimog, usually 240HP naturally aspirated diesels (11l displacement) and a massive cooling system.
Those trucks have an extremely long wheelbase and usually have single rear tires if used mainly in the sand. They can carry about 18 metric tons through the desert.
