A T-rad public service announcement

I was looking for some grant and student loan info and ran across this site. http://www.missingmoney.com/Main/StateSites.cfm All it does is give you all the links in one place. What it does is make it easy to search for money you might be owed and haven't collected because you moved or you just didn't know you were owed the money. Most states have laws that protect you when folks owe you money and they can't find you. The payee has to forward the money to the state and they hold it for you. This could be insurance payouts, dividends, security deposits, utility refunds, who knows. All you have to do is follow the links and enter your last name and sometimes a first initial. Hope you all find you're owed a fortune.

Dang...It shows that I owe money!!!

Trying to figure out how they make their money for this service. Meanwhile, it appears that your site is one of only two legit sites (hopefully).

Troublesome would be an understatement.

If you scroll down the page I posted it will show you the links to the state sites. If anyone is uncomfortable, you can go to the state pages directly. It's not necessary to provide any personal info on the site. the states however will require more info but in the case of Alabama, the info all has to be snail mailed in.

$36 is just about enough to cover last years membership fees here. Glad somebody's getting a little back. My wife is still getting her paperwork together, just a little under $300 for her. Her sister is getting $600+ between where she lives now and her last residence.
